So I don’t have this weapon yet however I’ve noticed its listed as a submachine gun, when it is a semi automatic assault rifle. Shouldn’t this rifle be available for the other classes and not just specifically for the assaulter as it is only a semi auto similar to such weapons as the m1 carbine.
Also as I do not have this weapon yet what is it like ? is it even worth using over a normal submachine gun ?

i used a couple of times from dead enemies and it basically a m1 carbine
the gun is horrible compared to the mp35/I. but if your into volkssturm stuff you might like it just based on name and looks. there is definetly some meme value
It is a semi-auto but the high IQ developers class it as a counterpart to the PPD40 and make it exclusive to the assaulter, tanker, pilot classes

Its current placement as an “assault” weapons makes it completely pointless
Something else I find funny with it…its bad for assaulters to use but if you gave it to normal troops it would STILL be trash compared to the FG42 II. The gun literally has no purpose
Gun was okay before nerf! Right now it messed up, nor good range and accuracy like rifles nor firerate
Fun fact of the day:
in COD vanguard the VG 1-5, known as just Volkssturmgewehr in that game, is by default fully automatic
The only thing that is worse is the MP3008

It’s a nice gun, but we have. Better options tho.
It’s like using a bolt action at level 30 when you can equip an fg42 2.
I actually would prefer this weapon for run of the mill rifleman vs having it listed as an Assault weapon. It has really no place on that class of trooper.
They did buff its ROF back so I have a few squad members with it, but that is more for variety than actual combat effectiveness.
i quite like the mp3008 though 
perhaps it should be an earlier unlock
level 20 seems abit high for what it is.
vg 1-5 is good for a little closer than mid range combat role, for long ranges it lacks hit power of a rifle and for close ranges it lacks the rate of fire of an smg.
But…
I love bolt actions… at least those I use have an added “boom surprise” that startles ppsh users nicely 
Here’s an interesting tidbit. You all know that Battlefield 5 has a VG 1-5 that is unlocked from the beginning that is fully-automatic. The level 20 assault VG 1-5 is t he semi-automatic version…however as history reveals, the only real VG 1-5 was in fact semi-automatic.
From Forgotten Weapons: Prototype Volksturmgewehr “MP 508” a VG 1-5 with a semi pistol grip and a switch for firing full auto, theres no known surviving example today and never left the prototype stage.
The only fully-automatic version was only a prototype.
Battlefield and cod have both no idea what the word “history” mean… they are poor references
