Italy and england had decent gear in war. But they are underrepresented . Except italian didnt have good medium/ heavy tanks though.
Solution is simple when separating: duplication
Give them seperate prog tree and equivalent weapons and vehicles
If italy dont have enough heavy tanks even as prototype, then give them attacker planes with high firepower
Duplicate squads according to players progression who already played and progressed to some level or maxed.
For newbies: they will have to grind both sides if want to maxedout all sides.
Italy and england are very overlooked in ww2 media. This will also boost game’s reputation in ww2 fps market
We need branched progression first, and equalise the weapon efficiency to make some sense to use it
Maybe keep both in the same campaign but allow to choose German Axis or Italian Axis. Or American Axis or British Axis. And keep equipment exclusive to the nation save a few event weapons and ones that were commonly traded and such.
We need a progression, liked with fraction, not a campaign, with some weapon limitations, like japanese weapons in Normandy
Part of the problem is of course that the game has a tendency to put a lot of equipment into various campaigns that was never actually in those campaigns, so in Tunisia they’ve added a G 55, they never served over North Africa, and the Semovente 75 mm the have in the game never did either, only the short-barreled version did, but it did have a heat round that was capable of killing Shermans.
It’s really tempting to try and use a Historical template but the game simply doesn’t do that they do whatever they want it’s just a game, and most of the weapon systems don’t perform anywhere near the way they did realistically, for example it’s super super easy to strafe tanks and kill them right now and there is zero historical precedent to support that, but even the MGFF 20 mm cannon on the 110 can pop British tanks in North Africa in game, and they had a super low MV, it’s just really hard to use history at this point to try and argue for something when the game is so ridiculously unrealistic in so many ways.
The game is fun to play but at times it’s so ridiculous that I find it distracting I wish it was more realistic I really do realism has its own sort of balance, but right now being in a tank sucks major ass because it’s just so easy to get killed in one.
Tanks should just be tanks for fucks sake they should be dangerous hard to kill but the way they’ve got the models right now it’s almost not worth taking one especially with neutering of the machine guns I mean I could just go on and on about how messed up they are at the moment.
But to get back to your point I think in theory that would be nice yes but all of their campaigns seem to be this way a big mashup of things, they’ve got Australian troops now with Owen submachine guns in North Africa and they never use those in North Africa, the Pacific war is one giant mash up supposedly it takes place throughout the entire campaign from 41 to 45 they could’ve broken it up into more realistic segments but they didn’t
Dividing between UK and US, Germans and Italians - it is only unneeded confusion.
I would leave it as it is.
