Should we do something about stg44?

Why choose a squad of 7 men with only 4 stg44’s, when you can have a squad of 9, equiped between 8 to 9 fg42’s?

fg42 has a faster rate of fire and more damage per bullet, making it reliable at quikly killing enemys up close. Compared to stg44

And if you do have an assaulter in the squad, wouldnt it be better to use kiraly? it has almost 900 rpm and its bullets deal more damage than most smg out there. which makes it ok to use in mid range. This weapon fits better for an assaulter.

the argument that stg44 is better for assaulters doesnt make sense to me, its inferior when fighting against enemys with fast fireing smg. Sure it can shoot far, but thats the job that other classes should do. Assaulters are for close fighting, are’nt they?

Shouldnt we rethink about how to make stg44 just as viable a fg42?

Why equip a tommy 50rd (that sucks) when you can equip full squad of t20s. No argument for making stg better. It’s a great gun as is.

You should keep your STG loaded?

I have a five man med squad with Kiraly’s, and an Engineer squad with seven StG44’s and I like them both pretty much the same. I have equal success with both. I also have three 9 man rifle squads full of FG42II’s. But my favorite I think is the StG 44. I have about the same success with them all, but like the way the StG shoots. Sometimes I will incorporate three sniper squads using StG 44’s less the scope and FG42II’s sniper rifles, and all three my assaulter in those squads use the Stg.

Thanks to Soviet body armor - both need 2 shots to kill.

STG44 is way more accurate than both FG42 and Kiraly so it’s the best and most reliable weapon to use as Assaulter, at close range it will lose in pure dps against those weapons but remember in Enlisted you don’t fight only at close range but most of the time at ranges above 30m.
Honestly Kiraly is so inaccurate that it could as well be a BR4 weapon, i would take both Conders and my MP717(r) over Kiraly any time of the week.
I like mixed squads with STG44, Conders/MP717, FG42 or G43 Kurz the most you can be prepared for any situation.
But i wouldn’t mind making STG44 stronger at close range since it’s inferior to both AS-44, Fedorov and PPSh-41.

Because for assault squad you get 2x FG42 - perfect for most ranges, both not too close and not too far
4x STG44 - perfect for close to mid range AND each soldier has a bajilion rounds on them with the ammo pouch
1x Sniper FG42 - to remove all heavy MG campers or other far away campers

It shouldn’t? 10 health. Fg42 14.4 damage @10m, less 10% damage is 13 damage. If he doesn’t die at point blank ranges blame vitality.

13.1 damage @55m, less 10% is 11.8 damage. Blame vitality again.

11.8 damage @100m, less 10% is 10.7 damage. Blame vitality again.

Vitality should be removed from game. Russian armor however has a place in ww2 game

Even if a russian soldier didn’t have body armor, it would take 2 shots at anything around 50+m if they have vitality which is where plenty of engagements happen

13.5 hp +10% damage reduction means FG42 and STG44 kill with two shots at the most common fighting ranges - which is mid to short range.

Whether or not Soviet body armor and vitality has a reason to exist - both do exist. Everyone has access to vitality, but only Soviets get a secret damage reduction in the form of a cosmetic which has no other drawbacks.

And no - body armor realistically speaking did not stop riflerounds, but in the game it makes you surive one extra round of FG42 and G41.

This is from vitality…completely seperate mechanic

Only russians used body armor in real life

FG42 doesn’t kill with two shots - the mechanic doesn’t matter. What kind of an argument is that?
