I’ve been using my 75 Sherman and Calliope recently and have been getting clapped by tigers, what I’m wondering is if I should spend the time trying to grind for the 76 Sherman, it looks cool and I’ve heard it does the job when it comes to taking down tigers and panthers but it’s just so far down the campaign I’m wondering if I should put in the effort to get it, honestly wish the M4A2 (76) W was in Normandy instead of Berlin.

Yes, the 76mm Sherman has the ability to take out a Tiger from the front, other tanks that offer you that ability are either too weakly protected (M10/M18) or require you to pay for it (Firefly)
If you don’t like the 76mm Sherman, you can choose the Jumbo in exchange for unparalleled anti-infantry capability, but this requires you to rely on the P47/P38 to destroy German heavy tanks, and neither of the two American Bazookas can penetrate the Tiger or Panther from the front
It’s actually the opposite for me I don’t want the Jumbo so I’m gonna try and grind for the 76 Sherman instead.
As someone who mains Tiger, that thing absolutely scares me, you definitely should grind it
You can pen the Jumbo with anything from the front if you hit the coaxial machine gun. Same in War Thunder. Although in War Thunder it doesn’t really matter that much anymore as the tank got a nerf when they changed its battle rating a year or so ago.
M4A3E2 Jumbo - very strong armor, but the same gun as the regular Sherman. It cannot destroy enemy tanks like Panther or Tiger, but he is also somewhat protected from their shots.
M4A1 (76) W - very strong gun (can kill a Panther or a Tiger in one shot) but also very weak armor (same as the regular Sherman or even worse). So in tank vs tank battle it all depends who will see enemy at first.
I use both tanks, but I think that Jumbo is better.
Use the M10
It’s way harder here because the aim system is different.
