Should I destroy AP-mined enemy rallies?

I am talking about the practice of placing AP mines on enemy rallies to wipe out the next squad that spawns there.
Not sure if it is getting more common but I’ve found myself noticing it more and more often.

So what should I do when I find an enemy rally and also notice that it is already mined?

  1. Destroy the rally and get some points but also steal the points from the player that found the rally first and ‘sabotage the team’ by preventing a future enemy squad wipe.

  2. Leave it as is.

Personally I do think that mining rallies is pretty unsportsmanlike but I also don’t want to be a bad team player.

Now I’d like to know what other people think about this conundrum.

Place your own AP mine and let rng decide who gets the kills.

For me its a toxic practice, game spoiling and will make players not bother playing or just rage quit.
it should be made ineffective asap using spawn protection or make it explode in the players hand who trys to place one on any spawn.

If i see that a teammate has mined a rally i just leave it be.

You’re skipping walking from spawn by using the rally point so nothing’s free especially If the person is an idiot and puts in a bad area you get what you get

Most ppl probably would just pretend failed to see friendly AP mine and “oops” walk away with +55 points. Hey, your teammate’s point is not your point. Ppl these days won’t even v mark targets so there will be less guns competing for kills. Human nature, hmm.

I’m actually surprised ppl would just leave their rally points behind without AP-mining the rally to deter hostiles from mining

I will just shoot rally. Screw that selfish prick that decided to delay destruction of a rally to get more points. Sorry mate those points are mine now.

i immediately shoot at any enemy rally i come across, mined or not, whatever the range. it is always the TOP priority target, must be taken down as soon as it is detected.

no time to go checking if an ally mined it, or casually walk to it to mine it myself. you could yourself be blown by a counter mine or shot down while checking it, leaving the rally unharmed.

I can see how people think its dirty…but rallys are free game

It makes the most sense to mine rallys instead of destroying them because you can delay one player for a bit longer

its not to get more points, its to deny the enemy an extra squad, it makes them wait through another death timer and when you are defending it makes the enemy lose more tickets.

personally, that’s what i do.
regardless if there’s a mine or not.

can’t take second chances.

and… as much i don’t struggle to get points either way, those points are mine :eyes:

would be a shame to let anyone else grab them.

( even though, it is technically more effective if you let the mine do the job so that the enemy will lose the squad that they were about to use and force them to spawn elsewhere / most of the time from the main map spawn point )

or you could just shoot them from the range with a view at their rally with mg nest instead using some weird tactics that just remove a single squad which doesn’t change anything

if you notice it is mined, it is better to leave it as is. player that would spawn on that rally will be delayed by first spawn cooldown, his squad will die (removing spawn points if attackers) and force him on second squad cooldown and he will need to spawn on other rally point or even on default spawn. not to mention player who built the rally point will not know that you are behind enemy lines and you are delaying him from building another rally point.

yes, i get the importance and utility of mining the enemy rally.

i just find the value of the target too high to justify the risk of loosing the chance to destroy it. its just too valuable to take any chances. destroy it first, ask questions later.

i dont know what chances are you taking? if you put AP mine, rally point is destroyed next time someone spawns on it, is it not?

I always destroy them. In my unit we do not accept that type of behavior. Nor kill prisoners.

No, but really it’s a shitty move. If a new player dies like this, I’m sure that afterward he probably won’t feel like playing another battle. The game already has a lot of problems and if we add on top of all a toxic playerbase then we’re done

That makes sense for new players But at BR5 it’s necessary to hold them back

In br 5 there are people from br 3, and many of them are new and just unlocked 1 item from br 3 and that’s why they play there. The last few days I found many USA players fighting with Ross rifles while I had full StG/FG 42II squads.

well looks like you’ve been lucky to dodge the plane cycling and impact Grenade spam

the chance of being killed while performing the task, preventing you to do it.

you have to go into AP planting mine range, so you could find the enemy counter mined their rally, loosing the opportunity. just an example.
