I wanted to ask, is it historically accurate that the sholokhov atr cannot even penetrate 30mm from 20m away? Also i tried in the shooting range, it barely penetrates the 5mm frontal armor of the panzer II…
In a real match, i found a panzer III B and spammed it from the side (14.5mm) with shots from 2m away… the first one went through, at the same spot, the following 6 shots did not…
Is that on purpose?
It shouldn’t be nearly as strong as the 14.5 mm ones as it shoot the 12.7×108mm round (the same as the DShK), but definitely shouldn’t be as weak as you’ve described.
You mention the front and sides, but are you taking angles into account? When you say “the side” are you shooting directly at the side? As in the tank’s hull is perfectly perpendicular to your shot?

No, its not… At least it should have better ROF than PTRD, and increase some damage a bit… it’s not usable against tanksbat the moment.
