Not sure if achilles really deserves to be in BR 3. It can pen a KT and the 17pdr HE is very powerfull even for a 76mm shell.

It has more disadvantages that outweigh the advantages of the cannon .

As for suggestions I support the firefly going down a BR , im not sure about Achilles though

Hmm yes but the Canon is way good for BR II , I wouldn’t have problem if BR III didnt get downtiered to BRII

All I am saying since BR III will be downtiered to BR II on occasion 17pdr will be OP so I can’t see it going to BR III unless BR III’s matchmaking is fixed

It changes nothing. ALL CANONS from ALL FACTIONS in br3 ALREADY obliterate everything a br under (3 obliterate 2).
There’s more than canon power. More variables.
For example, a pz4H gun will one shot any allies & Soviets br2 vehicles. It’s still br3.
An allies Sherman not only one shot any br2 axis vehicles, it also one shot any br3 axis vehicles…
So by that logic, since Achilles only has a potent canon and NO stabilizator, mediocre rate of fire, is open top, has no coax mg… br3 isn’t exaggerated.

M10 platform is so bad, Achilles can easily be BR3.
It is not going to be popular vehicle anyway.

I have it only because it’s Commonwealth and persist in using just Commonwealth stuff… but allies TT have so much better options.

why? 17 pounder doesnt perform better against BR2 targerts - both BR2 or BR3 will be penetrated no matter what, what makes the 17 pounder kinda bad is its low post pen damage.
it does bounce on Panther armor quite often, and even Tiger isnt guaranteed penetration, so the gun is a BR4 gun and pretty much worse than Panther gun right now.
its a BR4 gun, and the Firefly has BR3 armor, while the Achillies has even worse armor.
what should be a BR4 vehicle is the M36 Jackson - basically a M18 with the 90mm Pershing gun, Achillies could be a BR3 vehicle without having any negative effects on lower BRs.
Firefly is besides mobility worse than Panther, so it absolutely should be BR4

Achilles would be fine at BR 3, but its APDS rounds would need to get removed aswell.
Just for reference: in WT, both the M10 and Achilles share identical BR, and Sherman IC has actually lower BR than M4A1 76 W.

Achillies sure.
The huge penetration rounds arent a big deal because they are solid shot. Everything at BR 3 has more than enough penetration PLUS the HE filler to 1 shot nearly all targets just by penetrating anywhere. The M10 wolverine is BR 3 and objectively no different but has HE filler.
Achillies hasnt really got much going for it
I made a video on clip on why the great penetration is needed to compensate for it needing to hit specifc components that require tank anatomy knowledge
The APCR Round really only benefits greatly against 1 Tank at Br 4…and thats the panther…APHE just does it better
