You know exactly what they don’t like, and it’s precisely why I would do the same. I am not getting ganked by premium players who spam CAS and meta all game.
In meantime in war thunder you have 3 different type of battle, ground, sea and air, and you need just a unit per type for play and you can switch between them if one is locked, in Enlisted you have one type of battle and need minimum 4 unit for play, that’s mean if a f2p desert he can’t play for half hour
And also in WT you can just bring 1 tank and if you bail out you only lose 1 tank for duration of that game that means I can bail out as much as I want until I find a easy game
Desertion has been a huge unaddressed problem in Enlisted since I started playing in 2022.
I have never played War Thunder so I have no idea how the system works in that game, or if it would even work for Enlisted. If troops or squads got locked out, there are usually many alternatives, especially for people who played a lot from before the merge. I must have at least 50 German squads, and I still have tons of reserve troops that I bought on mass before the merge like assaulter 3’s so I could sell them for silver. If you locked me out of squads or troops for a period I would just rotate in others from my reserve of still like 150+ troops, it would be an inconvenience but it would not really stop me from deserting if I wanted to.
I think the best punishment in Enlisted for desertion would be to restrict XP and silver gain for people who desert. For example if you desert one game then you do not earn any XP or silver for the next 3 games. This would force people who try to use any reason to justify their desertion to think twice whether it is worth it to leave a game early or if its easier to just spend the 10 more minutes fighting even if it seems like a losing battle half way through.
The problem with desertion is a much bigger problem dealing with integrity and honor in people which can only be addressed so much within the confines of a video game. Its a “society problem” or “social media induced problem” or any number of causes/blame for it. Although the game should be punishing bad behavior like desertion more then it does.
Alas no discussion on this forum about punishing deserters ever goes anywhere because people who desert have a script of dozens of weak justifications like “Don’t punish deserters, just fix the game to my particular liking” or “Make the game so I win every match in 5 minutes and I wont desert”.
Imagine playing a 4 on 4 basketball game in real life and as soon as the other team gets one basket, two guys on your team just walk off the court saying “fuck that, I will find another game to join”. You would be standing there thinking “Why the fuck did you even come out on the court and start a game if you are just going to leave as soon as the other team gets one basket?”
But sadly I think this analogy will be 100% lost on some people cause they have never actually socialized with other people in real life and lack any understanding about teamwork or sportsmanship.
Bad idea. Instead of punishing player for the game they dont want to play(conqure, train). just allow player play the game they want to play like map selection and pve.

I have a better idea. Give player 3 battle +300% card everyday. 3 battle is the average of what a player can play/day and +300% bouns will make then think twice before leaving.
If we get a join back then sure.
They just need to make the first 3 games of each day an extra 100% revenue
300% is too much
If I don’t receive rewards for a whole season, I have a chance to get a 1000% bonus.
If by then I don’t encounter some damn parasites and monkeys that affect the whole battle, I’ll be very happy

just let people have their odd bot matches back

That being said, I do like the idea of locking a nation in battle but allow you to go to another nation to play while that battle completes / allows reconnect for certain amount of time.
~20% of players in all matches desert. minimum quarter of those (but most probably more than half) desert cause of bad mode or map. yet we still dont have any kind of way to to choose map or mode that we want to play…
instead of wasting dev time with implementing penalty for deserting, how about using that dev time to implement map/mode selection mechanism?
Punishment is meaningless, what we need is more rewards, rewards for players who are willing to stay and those who contribute to victory.
An asymmetric compensation should be added when settling rewards, where the team with fewer players will receive more rewards.
In addition, the score for the rebirth point is still not enough,It should have at least 100 points, otherwise people are still unwilling to build it.This is important because no one is willing to play with a team that doesn’t want to win at all.
The only way is to put a waiting line for those who abandon.
But being locked in with some bad players isn’t fair either.
I think that for many players, Enlisted is more than a casual game and they take it seriously, they should improve the rewards for being a good player and not playing like a bot behind the PC
Yes, this topic has been more touched than an altar boy in church, but really, deserting it’s mostly a consequence of bad game design.

Even if you continue to support friendly forces and suppress the enemy, it is always difficult to win.
Most of your allies are a group of guys with low abilities.
No spawn points or trucks will be built
Always walk in a straight line to die
Sometimes they even occupy the vehicle for a long time but are unable to effectively attack key enemy units.
These are games with random screenshots taken within 2 weeks
Most of the time airplanes are infested with parasites for a long time or there is no need to use them
Maybe you should give me a reason not to give up on them and be tortured by the enemy together.
Lets introduce better match making first then we can discuss quitting penalties. I rarely leave games but matchmaking is so busted i just have to quit sometimes to avoid loosing my sanity. The game is seriously not fun for me as much as it should be. I have no problems with loosing a fair game. However, more times then not it’s a complete steamroll on one side or another and usually not in my favor. Game needs to be slowed down, and I’m also sick of spawning into a game to see the first point taken or close to. There needs to be some kind of waiting period for everyone to load in or a timer before first objective can be taken.
