Seperate the ammo pools of Type 100 Early and Late SMGs

A quick and dirty suggestion here for you, (I promise the UK rifles are still coming).

The magazines for the Type 100 Early SMG and the Type 100 Late SMG are actually not compatible.

Magazine nest for the Early model:

Now, the Late model, the cut is on the back:

The two guns, despite the Late model being a developed from the Early model they clearly used different mounting systems for the magazine, with a catch going on the bottom for the Early model but it then being redesigned and moved to the back of the magazine nest on the Late model. Mechanicly speaking, a magazine made for the one model would be incapable of locking with the other, this fact has been known for quite some time within collectors circles (which is how I came to first learn about this).

So, with almost 100% confidence, I can state that the magazines are not interchangeable, and the game should therefor seperate the ammo pools for them.

You do realize the game splits ammo pools by the size of the magazine right? (Unless they’ve changed this without me knowing) And currently isn’t coded to recognize anything else like cartridge size and shape of magazine. So something like an fg42 and a berretta m38a will share ammo/mags because they’re both 20 rds mags. And something like the m1 garand and johnson rifle do not share ammo because one is 8 rds and the other 10

Good suggestion, the same goes for the ppd and ppsh41 drum mags.

This is not true for example AVS & AVT (15) does not share the same ammo pool since they use a different magazine despite being the same ammo capacity.

Is this a relatively new mechanic? Because there are many guns that do and don’t share ammo, the only reliable rule i found in testing was the mag size, although i never tested avs and avt. Maybe this just exists for the avs and avt because it’s russia? They do seem to get quite a lot of special treatment. Quadro even made a video about it a year or two ago which is where i first learned about how to get around sharing ammo when using 2 primary guns.
