Anyone know what this does, on ps5 here and use it when I have surplus troops but what does it do, does it give me anything back?

no, it doesn’t give you anything back.
those are soldiers kept in the reserve.
usually you make this action if you have too many soldiers in your reserve, and you need space in order to keep using silver orders and receive soldiers.
otherwise a text would appear telling you that you don’t have any spot left in the reserve.
so that’s when send to the rear it’s usefull.
( i personally do this on pilots as i can’t be bothered to keep playing them just when i already have a 3 or 4 star pilot)

Ah ok thanks, so I did the same and in hindsight wish I hadn’t done it for troops, but to be honest level 3 and 4 toppers in my squads already.
than start making the 5 stars.
mainly for having one perk bonus more than 4/3 stars.
plus, ai “”“should”"" be more accurate
