ZH-29
We have the Type Otsu which is the Japanese copy of the ZH-29, but only about 20 of those were ever made. On the other hand, Japan got their hands on 285 original ZH-29s which were captured from the Chinese. You could make an argument that ZH-29s were more common on the battlefield than the Type Otsu.
Therefore, I believe it is logical to add the ZH-29 to the Japanese BR4 tech tree.

Hino-Komuro Rifle
This rifle was tested against the Type 38 Arisaka (before WWI) but it was a semi automatic weapon which I believe could fit in BR3. This would be especially good since the Type Otsu is BR2 level good and not worth having in BR3. This practically means that the Japanese faction has no BR3 semi auto rifles. It also had 10-15 round detachable magazines. It would essentially be the equivalent to the SVT, except in Japan.

Proposed Changes
The Hino-Komuro Rifle is hardly historically accurate and the Type Otsu is still a BR2 weapon in my eyes, so I propose moving the Type 4 into BR3. My reasons:
- 10 rounds (similar to G41 and SVT38)
- 12.4 damage (a middle ground between the M1 Garand and the G41/SVT38)
- Dual clip reloads (incredibly annoying/slow reloads)
- Arguably the worst iron sights of the popular BR3 rifles (lots of weapons have their BRs decreased due to worse iron sights, such as the Type 38 Arisaka rifle which is actually really good)
- Literally a Japanese copy of the M1 Garand which is BR3
It is practically statistically similar to the G41. You may argue that it could still be in BR4 because of its slightly higher damage compared to the G41, but it is still much worse than the SVT-38 and M1 Garand. It’s American counterpart is the M1941 Johnson Rifle, which also deals more damage.
Factors such as damage and recoil can be changed if the Type 4 isn’t bad enough to fit in BR3.

This already exists within the editor as a weapon called ZH-29 JP. This is the exact same ZH-29 the Germans have but in a five round variant.
I think they should add this into the game at BR IV but with its 10 round variant and a bayonet within the Tech Tree.
Solid BR III choice but hardly realistic. It would probably be best to stick with the 10 round variant since most semi autos were 10 round within the game, especially the BR III and IV ones. Even then, This would be best as a gold order And if turn into a gold order then the 15 round variant could be more worthwhile then the 10 round. I vaguely remember seeing records of this rifle having a rare experimental variant with full auto capability and a 25 round magazine. I’ll see if I can dig that up again. But I can remember aside from magazine size was that the one prototype made was destroyed due to a feeding issue that caused the round to detonate in the chamber killing the person testing it.
As for the Type 4.
I do agree with moving the type 4 down to BR III, This way Japan would have a proper BR III semi-auto. Mainly because it’s lower damage and lack luster TTK capabilities compared to other weapons within BR IV, I support lowering it to BR III without making any changes to the weapon whatsoever. It has ridiculously slow reload compared to every other semi-auto in the game, it’s dispersion is horrible, and it’s weak compared to all the other BR IV semi auto weapons.

Lol the ZH-29 JP in the editor is literally the Type Otsu, seems like you never bother to check what it really is.
Lol did you even tried it before? The only stuff that is exactly same is the gun firing sound.
I wish the Type Hei late was a regular TT weapon and this was a GO weapon. I hope they fire whoever made the decision to make both 10 round variants of the Type Hei early and late GO weapons.

I agree with you there, Just like with Japan’s most iconic tank being a premium. They really screwed the Japanese faction. I get that they needed gold orders and premiums but there is a lot of other equipment they could have chosen that is far more rare or would fit that position better.
