A conversation of the mosin m91 by tokerev was one of the first semi automatic rifles made by the Soviet Union, this rifle has 5 round in mag fed via stripper clip like the regular mosin. Would make a great weapon for tier 2 soviets

The Russians definitely need a low level semi auto rifle as they really lack in that department. The Germans also need a paratrooper squad as well as they used were used in WW2. I wish the DEV’s would also offer these squads with changeable weapons, which I believe my Russian parachute unit has, but not my level 5 Allied unit. Sorry, I got off topic, but I think every faction should have paratroopers and all have by level 2 a semi auto rifle option. Of course, I also think that the Russians and Allies are weak at low level MG’s, which is why I think the base BAR 1918 should be dropped to level 2.

it would just be a gold order weapon cause this was designed in 1910 and never got put into production cause it was too expensive and complex to make.

Soviets do need a BR II semi auto, either this, a stripper fed SVT or the SKS could work. And before anybody says SKS is already a premium squad, I know I own that squad but that wasn’t the only type of SKS made, if I recall correctly they had three different variants of the SKS by the end of the war and post-war they had 5 models before they abandoned the weapon altogether in favor of automatics. They could easily choose the SKS-45 or SKS-30, This way the SKS-31 will be left to the premium squad.

To comment on paratroopers, strip the Soviet advantage away. Every faction should be able to change weapons freely to any BR for all paratroopers (within reason because flamethrowers), There’s no reason why this feature should be exclusive to the USSR. Soviet and Japanese factions could still use another paratrooper squad for an event, that way they’re brought up to the minimum of 3 squads just like Germany (perfect time for this would be a Soviet vs Japanese paratrooper event). Then hopefully all three of them can get their fourth paratrooper squad so they’re all equal to the amount of squads the Allies have eventually.
Take the baby steps to get each factions “squad type advantage” to a level were each faction will have three event squads and one paid. I say squad type advantage because paratroopers can be a lot more influential to match outcome if used correctly compared to many other squad types.

They could also do some WW1 Fedorov with a smaller magazine, or something like that.
