it doesn’t necessarily have to mean anything.
similar to murican m36.

Sd.Kfz or Sonderkraftfahrzeug (this language is a nightmare with dyslexia) series did follow a logic.
1 to 99 were usually unarmed half-track vehicles
100 to 199 were tanks or SPGs ect.
Also you can easily pin point what military equipment you are talking about except for a numbers which were reassigned, but still far more logical than naming everything M1.

Well believe it or not, most numbers do actually have a corresponding vehicle when it comes to our MC’s (Motor Carriage). There are our SPG’s, the Gun Motor Carriage. SPH’s, or Howitzer Motor Carriage. The Multiple Gun Motor Carriage which were most commonly SPAA’s. As well as the MMC, which is short for Mortar Motor Carriage. Something I still struggle to say to this day. Lol
That doesn’t mean there are no holes. Be it the number was taken up by a prototype that never reached any further stage of development other than the chalkboard or just simply doesn’t exist for another reason. Now, I don’t know if these holes are due to a lack of something to fill them or the simple lack of completion of the source itself. However, the holes exist nonetheless and I have no explanation for them
