I would like to see a return of more silver lootbox. I finally had something to do with my bajillion silver and full skilltree. Got a couple funky pistols.
The main issue I’ve seen people report, is that they’re bothered with the low drop rates, spending hundreds of thousands and getting nothing. Personally I think the low droprate is part of why these items are so desirable. You get to have something exclusive.
Another issue is that the box could be considered a “silver trap” for players who have other items to unlock, and the potential to get absolutely nothing cool is way too large.
My suggestion:
- For the next box, let players select a reward from a separate reward pool after # boxes opened (number depends on reward rarity & box price). This way, instead of full RNG, you can guarantee at least one cool reward with farming.
- Make the boxes a lot more expensive and increase drop chances an equal relative amount. This should gatekeep most newbies from wasting their currency, without changing the underlying veteran silver sink.
