Well one could then call them assault engineers instead, and give them SMGs for example - a small powerful squad that blows obstacles up, specialises in mines and building some special assault structures like ladders - now also give them mine detectors of some sort and you would have a useful meta unit.

yes, america and japan need their assault engineer as well

Not only they need also BR III+ Paratroopers that we are waiting for Ages specially Japan. But i don’t mind some Johnson Paratrooper squad for US.

I like this idea.

Especially bridges and ladders.

I’ve suggested previously having either generated bulldozers (like trucks) that anyone can use

OR

Bulldozers attached to in this case a sapper class where the player can choose to spawn with or without the bulldozer (same as APC squad)

Bulldozers would assist in clearing obstacles, making paths and moving tank hulks.

Id suggest an infantry bridge and Bailey bridge, the latter can fit vehicles and would cost more resources.

My trade in the army was Assault Pioneer…
