Russian Civil War - Updating the Game

Recently, I’ve come across an issue of which I find of importance now. Currently in Enlisted’s custom lobbies, it is now increasingly common to find people playing oudated versions of my Russian Civil War mod. This can range from people who are just a version or two behind, to people playing beta versions of the mod entierly.

These outdated versions contain bugs, and may even show innacurate equipment. For instance, Version 0.9 contains a Pz. IV and a Bf-109, vehicles which are not even close to accurate. Version 1.4, which is now bugged thanks to the Stronger than Steel Update, now gives the players access to flamethrowers and WW2 Era machine guns.

This, in my opinion, taints the experience of playing a Russian Civil War mod, as it takes away from the experience of playing a custom mod. What is the point of playing Russian Civil War mod if you just bring WW2 equipment? At that point, you’re only coming for the map, and while I must say that the map is nice, it is only half of the experience. The other half are the custom squads, which try to emulate the feeling of being in this time period.

Yes, there are a few historical innacuracies, but it is not as bad as the bugged versions are, with their PPShs and Gewehr 43s and whatnot.

So, I ask all of you who are reading this, please update your mods!

Dude literally wrote an essay to update his mod.

Yes you are right; Everyone should check if the mod they are playing is up to date.

We need an optional auto-update feature which we already suggested.

Essay was kinda necessary. I mean if I told people to update their mods, some might ask “Why?”

I Needed reasons, after all some people might like playing the older versions (for some reason), and me telling them to just update them might not convince them.

Anyways, thanks for the support, and yes I do think an auto-update feature would be great!
