The lack of meaning of every match is the biggest fault in this game, you got 100kills, so what? i would suggest a RTS/War mode like Heroes&Generals. you already have the squad system, would be nice to have a general
mode to control them on a world war map so every resource in the match would be given by a General (you would choose between allies or axis until the war ends).
the RTS in H&G is the main reason people are still playing that. on the fps aspect, Enlisted is superior in every way but it lacks that rts feeling of being part and changing the course of war…
unless dev team gets tripled i dont see any way for them to implement RTS into this game. they have too much to do just by fixing the game and adding new content. adding new game mechanic is simply insane…
I just want a field commander RTS mode for in-game battles. Like a radioman class with a field commander in the squad that gets access to 2-4 AI squads that he can be controlled from an RTS camera and UI that would resemble something like Company of Heroes with hotkeys that allow you to cycle the transparency of floors and roofs of buildings while only having enemies render if they’re in the FoV of your AI squads/friendly team mates.
I’ve seen this suggested before, and in reality it would be EXTEMELY hard to implement well in this game. BF4 tried it with the commander system, and it was pretty much an utter flop. The thing is that unless the “commander” is actively communicating with the team, you are going to have a huge waste of resources moving around.
On top of that, restricting players by having a “commander” that isn’t fully aware of everything happening on the field, or that might have tunnel vision is detrimental to gameplay.
IF there was a way to make sure that player could effectively do that role, it might be different. If for example the player had to pass certain scenario tutorials before that was option, MAYBE. In addition, there should be a team function to remove the commander via a vote system. This way, if the commander was squandering team resources, he could be removed from that role.
first, maps are too small and only available for head on combat
veryfew maps gives you tactical opportunities
second, hll altought not squad based game, have a commanders system. the probem is playerbase is also corrupted there and even as a commander you did your best, if your teammates are bad you will lose and everyone will blame and harras you. this is why nobody want to be the commander anymore . too much harrasment and too much responsibility.
