Within tier five and in some cases at times even lower tiers there is a massive amount of explosive spam. Leaving a team completely unable to defend themselves or fight back. Often leaving people in steamroll matches, that are completely one-sided. These are the proposed changes to explosives.
Planes:
Due to the amount of explosive spam reducing the total number of rockets from say, 8 to 4 would go a long way in helping explosive spam. No plane should have more than four rockets for any faction.
Tanks:
This one’s tricky because tanks already inconsistently hit, but i propose lengthening the reload on some tanks. Tanks like the IS-2 and KV-2 are an exception because they already have a ridiculously long reload. I see this as a better alternative then to reduce the total number of ammo for AP rounds. Even a 1 to 2 second change would make a big difference.
Artillery:
Increase the cooldown time to 3 minutes with the rapid artillery perk, 4 without. This would be a 25% decrease in over all cooldown time with the perk instead of twice as fast.
If this is not seen as viable do something similar to the supply drop where there is a team cool down of at least 1 minute.
Edit: This change would not affect smoke artillery since it’s nearly useless anyways.
Planes and tanks have decent reload so that is not really the issue to begin with. But yes the main issue of explosion is the radio guys that constantly spam strike for like 5 minutes until you die because for some reason, the explosion just phase through the building you were hiding and instantly die.
Solution (its just pick either one of the choices below):
Give a 1-3 minute cooldown for every radio guys in the match to avoid it
Give a 5 minute cooldown on one strike location + few km away from it but you can strike other places
1 APC/Transport (max 3 parked - 1 (2 if flex) active squads)
1 tank
1 plane
1 flex that can be any of the 4
Also Merge Rider and Transport into Driver … would allow 4x4 and stuff to or something with smaller squad capacity for spawns.
Game should embrace vehicles as support to infantry with infantry being the main part of it. At current it’s possible to have half the team in vehicles (2 tanks, 2 planes, then apc’s and riders).
That is what it feels to be in the receiving end of combined arms. Opposing team gets obliterated with minimal resistance. Good/Bad part about Enlisted.
Are allies’ Normandy planes with HVARs fixed?
Or are they still blowing everything up like tiny tim rockets?
And make loader perks pretty much a requirement for proper fighting?
Why?
I guess this could be an encouragement for ROs to leave the hiding place and go off themselves capturing a point, so that timer resets, but I don’t think this is necessary.
