Rocket Artillery for All

Mechanics should not be locked to purchasing a premium squad.

Rocket Artillery should be a freely available ability for all Radio Operators.

It should be an upgrade in the Radio squad

Rocket Artillery specifically needs to be able to target in the Grayzone aswell…

The whole gimmick is its meant to be good against tanks…tanks that it cant target because they are in the greyzone :no_mouth:…

I’ve suggested overhauling RA to be a compelling alternate to gun artillery

  • shorter cooldown
  • fires immediately
  • wider range
  • low accuracy

At the very least the first step is to finally have RA be for the all Radios

It should be adjusted, for example, from a circular area to a rectangular area, and now it is basically no different from artillery.

It is not.

Definitely not for all, but for radioman II maybe.

Actually artillery should always have two options:

  • long barrage low accuracy areal denial vs infantry

  • short strike with small area but in return quite accurate vs vehicles

So I actually think that regular barrage like we have right now should be the low BR barrage and rocket artillery should be for high BR.

In return the precision strike vs tanks should be a separate option for all radio squads.

If properly balanced, maybe all three: bombing run, anti tank strike, and areal denial barrage should have three separate cooldown queues.

It literally is. That’s like imagine Bombing Runs or future radio calls were locked to a premium squad.

They took the most infamous artillery of the Eastern Front and locked it to 2 squads.

I find Class X,Y,Z arbitrary. Literally why. That’s like if Assault 1 can only use SMGs and Assault 4 can only use Assault rifles.

It’s like Engineer 2 only has the MG Nest. Why is this single building locked to this unit when they can still build everything else. (The MG Nest should be available as an upgrade for all Engineers)

7 squads

3 premium (1 German radio squad, 1 soviet radio squad and 1 US engineer squad)

4 event squads (the same squad but one per nation)

Personnally, I find that rocket barrages are more or less useless or comparable to standard artillery. So it does not really matter too much.

its not just premium - there are also a couple of event squads with this special artillery.

It’s ridiculous. They locked a mechanic to Premium squads and a few event squads from ages ago that not everyone has

Even adding more event squads with rocket artillery isn’t a true solution

The simplest solution is mechanics shouldn’t be locked to a special squad and it should just be an upgrade for Radios. It should’ve always in the first place

to be honest, its not even noticeably better against vehicles anyways - I think I died to those rocket barrages so far only once.
They are a bit better than regular barrage because they last longer tho.

For me it’s like the Flame bombs, those are limited to only 4 squads and the bomb themselves are irrelevant… Funnily enough the most attractive feature of the Hellcat ingame is not the flame bomb but the 4 HVARs at BR3

I am not sure if you have tried the rocket artillery yourself, but they are kinda underwhelming.

Sure it would be nice to have them for free (maybe a radio III squad ?) but I would rather have the devs spend more time solving bugs and features rather than focusing on rocket artillery or flame bombs.

Yes Rocket Artillery is underwhelming. It’s the thought that counts.

I do have these squads but I don’t think its right for this or any mechanic to be locked.

I’ve been campaigning for RA to be updated but I feel the most important first step to get out of the way is reimplementing it for all Radios

This is a very small update. Probably requires no time whatsoever. Making maps and vehicles now that takes time

I just don’t think it should be restricted to some Radio 3 either. I view its pointless. Engineer 1 and 2 can build all the same things and for some reason whatsoever only 2 can build MG Nests. I think Rockets (and MG Nests) should be a default upgrade

I have found rocket barrage extremely effective (or I just get lucky ALOT). If I have had the opportunity to target a tank inside the play area…it has dispatched them very quickly. would love to use it more
