It will be after Steam, when we accept the first players, collect feedback and then plan it in roadmap
I hope the devs are considering the fact that with Steam release all the supposed new players wave will be BR1, and all the OG daddies will farm and scare them with BR 2-3 equipment.
A Steam newbie who decides to start as Japan will be met with a guy who has 2-3 paratrooper squads, 2-3 Shermans, flamethrowers, P-38, Impact grenades, browning hmg, spawn beacon APC/truck and lots of ap mines.
While the Japanese Steam newbie basically can’t get any of that ever or within the next month.
It won’t be impossible for the Steam newbie to win but kind of disheartening to see, isn’t it?
Solution: by the time the game releases on Steam it is crucial and necessary that BR1 only meets BR1 and maybe BR2, but not BR3.
Since the idea of such a wide bracket is limited playerbase, there shouldn’t be any BR1 shortage on Steam release, right?
Or else you’ll just scare away your new playerbase influx.
BR brackets are most likely just due to playerbase being in the gutter atm, same thing with one side (axis currently) getting bots on their team to lower que times for the dominant faction.
The 2 things that are going to make the game look like shit to new players on steam that really need to be adressed before launch is the animations, and the economy. I get gaijin animators only had to work on vehicles and such, but you aren’t going to get away with these infrantry and gun handling animations for a launch in 2024, they are just really REALLY jank.
Theres no reason to wait until steam launch to get feedback from them, as toxic as the players you have now might seem, the people on steam who have no sunk cost in the game are going to shit on it 1000x worse, and they are going to have the same exact criticism of the game we have.
