Riding Tanks

Now that the jeeps are functioning properly, when will infantry be able to mount on tanks and ride them to the objective?

You are presuming tank moving toward the cap zone instead of find a nice camping spot

Lest be honest here tank can be used only for long range support, go towards the cap is stupid

but funny(but now tanks don’t do damage with a ram, so it’s not fun anymore)

Well I saw tank riding just yesterday.
2 enemy squads standing on top of an oblivious friendly tank

I see the request for this often for different games, but…

Any infantry on a tank are going to be horribly exposed to enemy fire.

Also, as a tanker I don’t really want a bunch of infantry crawling all over my tank blocking my LOS

The maps we have in game are Tiny you can walk most places you need to go in under a minute anyway.

Who thought that was a good idea? If you down someone with the MG, you should be able to finish them by driving over them.

Depends tank to tank, I’d prefer a friendly Tiger to be sitting back, while I’d want something like a Sherman / Jumbo to be moving with the infantry

If there’s 2 tanks I like to take the German tactic.
One moves forward with the infantry, the other sits back and covers it from a distance.

Watched in spectator mode 2 tanks being collectively useless because they were sitting right next to eachother competing for the same lane of fire.
Amazing battle where my team had substantially more kills but still lost because only 2 of us would ever even attempt to approach the cap.

I hear all the replies on here about tanks camping, but you don’t know that having the tanks work as an effective armored transport might make them more useful combined armes instruments for actually capping points. Playing as infantry, I would love to be ferried to the target (or within 70m) with partial cover and with the ability to fire aimed shots on the move. I think it could be a very effective assault tactic. And who better to keep away all those pesky TNT packs thrown at close range?

Currently, the dynamic with TNT packs is as soon as an enemy tank is discovered on the map, everyone runs toward it with TNT hoping to get in its blindspots. Having infantry on the back would make this tactic much less tenable, so the TNT would go back to being an ambush tactic like it is irl

Really you can already use tanks that way just as fine as if they had a mount point.
You just need a cooperative tanker
