Rider class improvements

EDIT (for additional explanation): The new soldier slot can use any of the currently existing soldier class upgrades that the Rider class has. So this can be an engineer or AT gunner, but also an assaulter, sniper, radioman or MG gunner, as below (but the extra 3rd soldier slot is not on this image yet):

Also, the extra soldier sits behind the driver.

You could also increase the turning arc of the mg as a part of the vehicle upgrades, since those dont make so much difference otherwise

Overall happy for the change and i asked for it. If you are in the mood for tweaking the motorbikes, here are the previous suggestions:

  1. WLA rider blocks the view
  2. Automatic fast soldier change on death
  3. Change the mg firing arc as upgrade

So just one AT? reconsider making all 3 soldiers specialists, because even if giving all the extra boosts such squad can have, its only 3 men in the end.

Now that motorcycles from any nation will be able to transport up to 3 soldiers and it will be possible to acquire less experience to level up, I can say that this update will be phenomenal! :partying_face:

It’s not just infantry sqds that are having this issue, some legacy planes sqds, japanese low tier plane squads in particular are suffering cause we have to spend more than 20k to level a sqd that can only use br1/2 planes

So just like the old prem bikers from Tunisia?

I actually liked only having two soldiers. Will this still be possible?

The extra 3rd soldier slot seems to be an upgrade so probably yes

Personally I disagree giving them the ability to resupply ammo. I don’t think it was necessary since their entire role is to be a mobile mg nest/ taxi for you to speed to wherever you’re going. They’re just a gimmick class. I like them and use them time to time, I thought they were basically fine. The only addition they need is cars for Rider 2 and maybe tankettes

Engi, Radio Op and AT Gunner is the best set up.

That way you can do long flanks into a sustained AT ambush and resupply AT gunner with the Engi.

Overall a great improvement. Maybe I will chose the motorcycle now, I never played it.

The grip on the road was fine, the worst thing about motorcycles is that they could not ride straight when you simply hold W or S key - they turn left steadily and you have to bash D every second to drive straight. It’s like every soldier gets a shorter left arm when he gets on a bike

Even after buff and QOL improvements i don’t see them being that useful in high BR, i wish they would have personal spawn point outside rallies/apcs that can be only used by your squads (vehicles obviously not included)

well, in reality they are great at high br to use them to get a side rally quick and fast.

and then harass enemy infantry from the rear / side.

cut down reinforcements or ambush tanks.

with these improvements, in theory will improve to do any of the tasks.

aka, use the radioman to put down some smoke, go in parallel from the side of the maps next to the gray area, use the anti tank weapon, destroy as many tanks and refill.

distance can be your friend.
as i own the third guy (/ from the premium squad ), he can be a dead giveaway, but at the same time, a bot with an fg42 is extremely good.

although, the premium one is still better. because you can have a mobile battalion. being able to build AAs and AT weapons.
and… without cars / armored vehicles or even SPAAs, i can see them continuing to be a niche class.

lmao sure, let’s draw little humans icons on APCs because they can spawn troops and big boom icons on tanks because they can shoot HE

Fix the ground on old maps! We can’t dig holes properly. Berlin and Moscow are hard to dig in

Agree. Normandy is the easiest to dig, 3 times minimum and you can easily put a really in it, other maps require like 5+ times digging a hole to be able to place a rally point.
