In the original you clearly stated that it had a 550 rpm when itâs clean (in setting 1), but then you say itâs down to personal preference not if the guns clean, which one is it?
Cuz the soldier will adjust it like all personal weapons to a desirable settingsâŠimagine you take the weapon can you say what rate of fire is shooting well no you will adjusted to what you like depending on the combat. Like changing between semi auto slow auto and fast however here you cant do it while you shoot you must do it before.
I see an option that can please both of us, the type 99 could have an auto slow setting (550 rpm) and a auto setting (800).
But I pose a question to you, can you provide any sources that say that it was Japanese doctrine to change the setting in battle because of personal preference or better yet can you provide any sources of it being done in ww2?
First I said that the weapon cant have same rate of fire like type 96 second think my friend forget about the doctrine do you think the soldier will put a timer and start shooting to calculate the rate of fire is it exactly 550 or he will shoot it then stop and say ohh its too slow or ohh its too fast I cant control it and he will reduce it until he finds the sweet spot he enjoys its made for convenience.
Well not exactly its not a select fire imagine is like putting a grenade launcher mechanic.
Can you please show me a manual where it says âsoilders can adjust it to their likingâ because the doctorine was that setting 2 should be used when the guns are dirty, so setting 2 would make up for less gases getting into the gun by opening the whole more, it wasnât there for soilders to tweak as they like.
The manual dose not state exactly on what port you will use it its suggestion how to operate the weapon teaching what part dose what after you learn it its up to you on what setting you will run it :
Type 99 Light Machine Gun Manual 1943 | eBay
So the manual is learning you how different parts work as you can see.
But it doesnât says its up to preference, higher settings are for prolonged firing because of gunpowder buildup preventing enough gas being redirected. Lower settings are for a cleaner gun because there is no gunpowder residue getting in the way.
So basically:
âąlower setting with a clean gun 500rpm
âąhigher setting with a dirty gun around 500rpm
âąhigher setting with a clean gun around 800rpm
But the thing is higher settings were only used when the gun had a buildup or residue preventing gasses from being redirected, NOT when the gun was clean. And incidentally all Enlisted guns are clean with no dirt and cannot have gunpowder buildup because Enlisted doesnât simulate wear and tear.
what setting 2 you have 5 settingsâŠdo you honestly think they put 5 settings so you can keep it only on 1âŠ
Thatâs a mistake on my part, but the point still stands.
No, your not listening.
Irl soilders would change settings when the gun had too much buildup that prevents gases from being redirected. But this doesnât apply in Enlisted so yes, you would never need to change settings because the doctorine didnât say to rip the gun off at higher rpms:
in combat the gun gets dirtier its normal but they are not exactly
2 is not 800 exactly
imagine you have 5 setting 1 is 550 - 5 is 800+
it depends on the state of the gun when the US army tested it they tested it not on gas port 1 when they achieved the 800 rate of fire so realistically the weapon can have any rate of fire between 550 and 800âŠ
No It canât, the gas settings were only ment to compensate for the lack of gasses going through the gun not to let the soilder waste all their ammo quicker.
and who decides that how do you think?
Japanese doctrine and the guns designer.
dose designer uses the gun or the soldier you aint gonna tell me how to play the game realistically I can put the port on what setting I like if you like to RP play on 1.
Good luck with that
You really are not using your head at all my friend you are out of arguments⊠go RP on another game I told you start using the MG 42 as the doctrine dictatesâŠ
its good that you quoted me thanks I told I need to post it yes you are made of it.
This ainât RP lil buddy, if type 99s were used with the lower rpm irl the thatâs how they should be given to playersâŠ
Its seems you dont have the IQ to continue my friend so far you are not using your head. I told you the weapon can be put on the setting the soldier liked.
Wrong, it was only adjusted after prolonged firing for the reasons Iâve already stated.
