Surely it makes sense to to incentivise spotting/marking?
There already is, somewhat.
If you mark a vehicle, or gun emplacement that then gets destroyed by an allied player, you get assist xp bonus.
(Also greatly help your team)
needs an increase for tanks tho, 15 points for a mark but over 300 for a kill
I really only mark for myself. Otherwise, it’s incentive for my teammates to steal my kills and I get like 15-40 points instead of 150-300.
What if you’re too far away to defeat the tank yourself, or without means to take the enemy vehicle out by yourself?
If there’s a friendly tank nearby, it could save his metal ass, and your team some tickets, no?
The only time I give out warnings is if he is greyzoning and I am currently playing infantry. Since I have no hope of destroying the tank and am reliant on friendly forces.
yes, but many people do not do this because the reward is so low they dont see it as worth the effort. perhaps if the points were increased, then more players would use markers
But… it’s literally the amount of effort required to move your mouse cursor over the vehicle, and press one key…
If ppl think it’s a lot of efforts… then I don’t know what to say other than the pros of doing it:
- assist xp bonus
- make an enemy vehicle blocking your advance disappear thanks to a friendly nearby
- save allied vehicles from an early demise, thus saving tickets for your team
- making victory easier to achieve, rewarding a huge +50% at the end
- not being a selfish dick
…
Ppl are complaining about others not building rallies. Not marking is even lazier…
Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good
certainly
I also hate those hyenas that steal their prey
At least the first player to mark a high-value target should get more points
I do think enemies killed “near” your marks should give you a pittance at least
and for marking infantry? I really think we need more motivation to mark
When I am in my plane I always mark tanks and enemy troops, but the tanks are what I am looking for and if someone else kills the tank before I do, I see I get like 25 assist points. Usually I am diving down just about to drop my bombs on a tank and as I release the bombs I see the tank explode and the screen shows 25 assist points. The crappy thing is I just wasted bombs on a destroyed target.
As a pilot, it happens to me constantly.
Of course I’d rather get the kill for myself… But I don’t mind that much and see it from a different perspective:
- If the tank exploded thanks to my mark, it means my team is active and doing what it’s supposed to do, to claim victory.
Many here forget it’s a team effort and are just here to collect “kills”. Those are really not good teammates to have…
I hate to lose, so I would rather have a couple kills and win then have 200 kills and lose. Seeing that I have never had more then 120 or 125 I think 200 is pretty much out of reach anyway.
Don’t worry, it’s quality that counts!
I’m very often in the air as a pilot, a fighter one. (Way too tired and busy to run, flying is relaxing)
And I don’t use the fighter seat to use as CAS, but as it’s designated role, which is to hunt other planes (I’m not a p38 rocket spamming toon). So I often end up with 30ish kills… but 0 death, and around 7-8 vehicles kills on average when no bomber formation is called. And often ends up first. Fighting other pilots, pays, even if it’s the most difficult class to play.
Note:
- to those upset about bomber formations giving xp, those are fighter disablers. They might not down the fighter immediately but will almost always cripple it enough so that the pilot will just bail out, thus freeing the skies (unless the pilot is great and keep zooming, avoiding the bullet hell). Keep that in mind.
Im not justifying peoples laziness, but if the rewards arent gonna change, then the amount of people marking wont change either
(its not)
It is.
But I mean, play well.
By that I mean not just being a tool flying in a straight line to dump rockets…
i know what you mean, but its not difficult at all
looking at 95% of the pilots I see,
It is.
