On the dawn of harder ranking, in the new season, I would recommend limiting how we are penalized on rank and experience when quitting a match.
Just had one of those 55-minute really good games, but had to leave due to reasons. It’s tough enough the match was that long, and being invested in it and then getting the -30% exp punch to the face and the -1 rank point wasn’t cool. If each rank point is now more precious to reflect a fairer rank climb, then there should be reasonable limits on quit penalties - like within 25-30 minutes or so. Don’t punish me for either playing, or having a life.
Separately, I feel we should be rewarded (with more XP?) a little for pressing the ‘join any side button’, because you know you’re gonna be dumped into a bot team to balance things out, in the majority of cases. I’m an alright player but I’m not usually a carrier if I’m up on top.
I second this. There has been a few time’s i have had to leave a match due to reality. Not that i care too much about the rank, it would still be nice to not be screwed.
I don’t care at all about my rank after I reach 150 cus to me it’s just a number then, I do agree tho that if you’re disconnected or have to leave because IRL that it’d be nice not to get penalized
I agree. I’m not really even concerned about the -1 to rank thing as being a high rank isn’t even close to as rewarding as it should be. My concern is more about the xp loss.
I think a better solution would be to keep the loss to rank, remove the xp loss, and put a timer that won’t let you join another game for like 5 minutes (or increased amounts if the player leaves mid-game often). This would let players that have reality pop up not get punished so hard, but the actual problematic players have to actually wait to be allowed into another game.
Yup for sure, after 150. The notes on the update means reaching 150 is on an increasing scale. So just using the opportunity to bring up another thing related to it : )
Hmm, that’s a good idea to dissuade to start droppers… company might not go for it though because the timer penalty may lead to significant population loss over time. And more bots!

Sounds good, but game is a buggy mess with potato servers.
I deserted a game just yesterday because i got 3 Connection issues in first 2 minutes of the game, freezing me and squad for 5-10 sec each.
Day before that game just dropped me mid match, and that was 1/10 lucky because i could actually reconnect, which You can’t with connection refused that i get every time i minimize game when it’s looking for match.
Month ago i was in match where EVERY PLAYER was disconnected, i was one of three to reconnect and enjoy full bot match.
Bonus DDos few months back, i still get matches with lags like back then often.
If the servers weren’t garbage, and the game wasn’t casual f2p shooter then maybe good idea.
But not in current state of the game, despite how i despise seeing 7 deserters just as match begins (map veto would help).
Do any (or all) of you think it would be fair to add, say, a battle timer before desertion penalties are applied?
For example, if you desert AFTER 30 minutes, then there is NO penalty. That way people who didn’t expect a half-hour (or longer) game don’t get unfairly penalized if real life intrudes?
The above would basically be my suggestion to the devs…this only seems to be an issue on Confrontation Mode…so that’d be the place to test it, IMO
Agree. I mean, I love a good (GOOD) hour-long game but not if I lack the time. Like right now I can’t play as 30 minutes isn’t long enough to come away without a penalty.
