A few patches Ago, Overheat was removed from All AA guns on request of the players. Please finish the job.


20mm Cannon Vehicles:

  • Are among the weakest anti infantry and anti-tank vehicles available
  • They come on the lightest and most fragile hulls
  • They have the lowest crew counts
  • It does very little damage to infantry for what it is (its a damn 20mm lol!!!)
  • Not only do they have a significant reload between belts, but Most of them also Overheat before they can use even half of their belt. They can barely sustain 4 seconds of automatic fire before overheating.
  • Reloading belts is 8-10 seconds (on TT vehicles, event vehicles are 3-5 seconds)
  • Overheat takes 10 seconds to cool down (give or take)

I am wondering why it is 20mm cannons need to be so severely limited in this way. It is really anti fun and seems very un-necessary…No HE spamming tank is limited in such a way.


Please remove overheat “completely” from the following vehicles (yell out if I missed any). They already have long reloads and low damage to deal with. (Ill just chuck the M13 GMC here aswell)

Even weirder if you consider many of them use magazines. Isnt the joke if a magazine to load faster?

Generally, autocannons should either:

  1. Deal low damage but have high ROF and long heating tolerance.
  2. Deal high damage but either has low ROF, reload time and/ or low heating tolerance.

The fact that they managed to give it the worst extreme across the board makes me wonder if the devs just want us to fast-skip beginner tanks.
I mean, I can kinda relate to the M13 because that thing wiped out entire regiments when it was released but it is so bad now that it cannot even function as AA anymore.

Also they removed much of the Penetration damage it started off with. So it got double wacked (as in shooting through walls)

Yeah I know and I really miss this tank its very aggressive tank to play and my favorite is :

Puma

But we have too many Pumas but I would love to have this one :smiley:

Overheat really does make any vehicle feel useless. I would argue that MGs on half tracks and tanks should also function without overheat.

I agree. But i thought id split the two. Opinions might differ on mgs, but i dont think many will differ on the 20mms

Yeah, I figured it out straight after and I deleted it for off topic. But somewhat you were really fast.

I saw those BR1 tanks, so for some reason I assumed it means including overheat of MGs (m13 for exampls). 2h of sleep does wonders to the brain.

man… i miss the first month of Pacific where the m13 used to be adequate.

didn’t took ages to overheat, was able to pen tanks and airplanes reliably.

but i’m getting beside the point.

i do agree overheat shouldn’t even be a thing.

like, it doesn’t make sense some have it, and others do not.

bikes would truly be less than ideal if such overheat gets applied. and doesn’t make sense portable mg have more damage and no overheat either.

Well, overheat would make sense if it would kick in after 2-3 mags, not after 0.4 like now. Something definitely needs to change.

Not only they need to have overheat removed or only trigger after over a dozens shells shot in quick succession, reload have to be vastly shortened and damage increased by 50-100% and also let them have separate slot from usual tanks, they could be used by a Rider 2 class.

This bike can shoot 250 rounds without overheating just no problem.
