Revert these 2 recent Chnages!

First; Recently after the introduction of the High Caliber Update all Bullet Penetration on Wood has been removed. The initial reason for that was the “cheesing” with the new Heavy Machine Guns, shooting through multiple walls without any damage reduction like it was for all other guns lead into unpleasant Gameplay.

Instead of highly reducing the Heavy Machine Gun damage when Objects get penetrated by it, all Penetration was removed instead. Now that punishes players that could use penetration of Objects before to their Advantage which makes the feel of the game so “static” and “2000’s like”. It feels unnatural that little pieces of wood now give proper protection even against tank shells.

I highly recommend here nerfing the causing source (Pen dmg of Heavy MG’s) instead of entirely removing a game play mechanic.

Second; While moving with scoped weapons especially weapons with high magnification your scope vision blacks out, which might be “realistic” but in my opinion we play after all a game and i personally just find that annoying.

It breaks and punishes you when peaking another player and leaves you vulnerable, ofc it can be argued as a set back for using such high magnification Weapons but after all it just promotes the player with less skill sitting around somewhere far away without any movement and punisches the player trying to get the maximum out of it and going bolt and aggressive.

Please just revert that change on Weapons with Magnification.

Incredible reasoning of your argument.

Yes, those guns should be fixed instead if removing something so basic for all guns and changing the game fundamentals.

They most likely disabled the wood penetration until they get it fixed.

I would rather not pen wood for a while instead of getting raped by HMGs

The wood pen thing is probably a panic revertion until they work out what materials can be penetrated, to what degree, etc.

As for the sniper scopes- It’s for realism. But also to nudge you towards using non-sniper classes.

Alright, thoughts its as easy as chaning some parameters as i expect these fired “bullets” already exists in the game at some plane or somewhere.

Though to be fair, you can’t move while on a HMG nest. The damage is that high due to risk/reward factor.

25 might be an appropriate value in my opinion. Can only penetrate one layer of wooden boards, and the damage is reduced by 80% at the same time.

I don’t know friend…

It’s a bit weird being saved from lmg fire by a bread basket in Tunisia, or when I must empty an entire smg mag to break same basket to get the guy behind…

There’s open markets everywhere in Tunisia, even TENTS block small arms fire nowadays.

Problem is identical in all campaigns.

Like I said when the update came, I don’t mind the hmg nerf, that was needed… But they overdid it: I miss the tactical moves I could make (shooting with smg through wooden walls to get a sniper hiding in a corner).

Hoping @Stein_Grenadier hypothesis is true…

He’s just here for trolling, don’t fall for ppl spamming dull comments or just no. He already archived his goal by causing multiple reply’s with that mindless nonsense.

And simply revert the damage and get again mg tank sniped between two bulding in moscow because the wood have 0.1 HP is again more weird, this dont need be reverted but wood remaked

Maybe if you gonna use forum search we pour souls gonna spare our self to say again the same thing for the 400th time in another pointless discussion

And ps

The scope is not bugged or need revert or other shit

Set your graphic to low because high refraction dont work with scope currently and make them black

Well, that was better as a simple no. Thx you repeated the 401st time for me.

At your service

I’m not asking for a revert, hmg abuse was comical.

Just saying devs overdid the nerf by making every wood of any thickness (even lil wooden fences baskets and tent fabric!) as strong as 15mm steel armour…

Which is why I really hope @Stein_Grenadier hypothesis is true and devs will redo stuff correctly, allowing us to mow snipers covering under windows sills, even if an entire magazine is needed for it.

They could have just removed HMGs until they fix them proper, like replacing wooden shed capture points with stone building, lowering damage for HMG overall and lowering post-pen damage. Instead, the fix they did, screws up many other play styles that took time to learn and just adding confusion to why things don’t work anymore or why shots are not connecting.
But hey, it’s not like similar “blanket” fixes are a new thing.
