Revamp Medics to actually be Useful

So, I’ve been playing the Pacific campaign for a while now, and while on very rare occasion, medics CAN be good, they usually are just treated like basic assaulters by most people. Even when I use a 5 man medic squad and pop down tons of med boxes, they are almost never used. On top of this, most friendly bots and players die to quick for me to have a chance to heal.
There is one main MAJOR change I would suggest that would greatly help not just the medics, but everyone as a whole:

  • when NEAR a medbox, any character, player or bot, will refill their medkits from it automatically. With this buff, refilling a medkit will only reward 15 points rather than 30, but it will be much more frequent.

  • this in turn means there will be more people capable of becoming downed rather than outright dying. Allowing you to pickup and heal more people as well.

Medics are essentially useless since the TTK is so quick in this game. Most people are dead before they can even use a medic box. I think it would have been better to just give Engineers the ability to build medkit supply crates, instead of adding a whole new class based on healing to the game.

but why would you want less interaction and more arcady bs?

i’d rather instead that the medics can refill their syringes and troopers flasks ( since medic always carried more of those ), for 1 each (separetely from the ) medkits from the medkit box,

be able to pick up back the medic box and reposition it,

make bot ai automatically heal the squad, and nearby soldiers if they are standing still ( otherwise you will lose your bot chasing the wounded like a dog with a stick/tennis ball just to die because the guy he was trying to heal got killed and he will be most likely next.

i’m still against the fact that you can somehow heal by just standing next. instead, i guess we could settled a midway where if you interact with the medkit ( just like any ammo box ) it will automatically refill your health and one medkit as well. in order to balance it abit, we could then put a cooldown of 10 seconds per soldiers.

last but not least, medics in other campaigns please…

and i guess that’s it.

false. you have no idea how many lives i have saved in the pacific where 90% of the matches just in the early day were full of bolt action rifles.

being medics is rewarding, helpfull and above all ( at least for me ) fun.

being in the trenches covering your buddy, grenades starts flying, artillery explosions and me somewhere in between dodging and healing who is hurted or help faster who got downed.
with smoke grenades, it’s a chef kiss.

( beside, medics are gonna be even more usefull in pve since they always tend to go for limb shots and what not )

You´re probably the only one who does play the Medic like a Medic. Everyone only uses it as Assault l. Don´t think I´ve ever seen a dropped Medic crate that wasn´t mine too. Teamplay in this game doesn´t go past go to Objective and build rally point/ammo 99% of the time anyway.

game is not compatible with medic role.

Medics (and flasks) are somewhat useful in this game.

I am against automatic thing for balance and immersion reasons.
Just make the boxes more visible (icon or sth. like this, btw. same goes for ammo box piles) and make people aware if you heal them. I am against forcing them to stop for obvious reasons, but there should be something (if it exists, I never experienced it before). HnG has a small text below the health bar which notifies you.

I don’t think you correctly read what I said.
I’m NOT saying that standing next to the box will HEAL you.

I’m saying that standing next to the box will REFILL MEDKITS.

Bots often use Medkits to revive themselves, and most players I’ve talked to will only use them to revive themselves too. Unless they use backpacks, they usually only carry the one.

Ultimately, if they were to implement my suggestion, it would allow a quick refill of Medkits if they passed by. I get that you feel this is “Arcady”, but for balancing purposes I think it’s necessary.

Honestly just make so medics can get syringes from med box would be good alread

I almost never get a chance to use syringes as is. Since most bots get one tapped, and people have a tendency to park them in really bad spots.

I usually use all of mine after a big attack when defending or after a successful capture when attacking
