When they were introduced, rifle grenades were situational weapons. They packed a punch but they were slow to use.
That (imo) made them more of a tactical weapon. To use them you had to be relatively safe (due to time it took to use them) and you got a reward for that (a wiped room). They rewarded planning and careful approach.
Currently rifle grenades are the oposite of that. Now they have “ok” damage and can be spammed. Basically shot 3 quick grenades while rushing the enemy position with minor downsides.
The only time I see rifle grenades being used nowdays, is a dude literally jumping around in every 4th match. (I have no idea why they are jumping.)
Imo they should return to their original state. Less spam, more thought.
Although they can remain pre-loaded as it’s more of a QOL feature.
I haven’t met grenade launchers for ages. I dont think they are spammed lol. You are just creating another made up problem for literally no good reason at all. This community will never be satisfied.

GL is rather hard to balance out. It doesnt require mounting such as mortar or staying still.
Meaning you can rather effectively hide 50-200m away from lets say cap point
( Which in fair share of maps are also fking stupid )
And rather easily wipe the room every few seconds.
Yeah I agree in its current form its quite meh, mostly just a trolling tool instead of being actually effective.
But this game definitely doesnt need more of explosive spam, which we seem to get more and more.
Unless the “slow” is reloading takes 2mins, it would still be more effective roombroom than tanks which actually has quite massive drawbacks in use.
Or limited to rifleman 2? 3? squad and 1 GL in that.
Anyway, in current terms you can have GL in every squad and shitload of GL’s in rifleman squad.
Considering that there actually is so small caps that they are technically just 1 room size you could pretty much hold the room clean alone with just 1 rifleman squad thru entire game.
You have only 3 shots (6 if you use 2nd weapon slot) and you can’t resuply them.
Also it took like 4s to reload so if you know where the dude is, you can easly kill him before he finishes reloading (assuming CQC on point).
Tbh in CQC there is little to no difference between using RGL and cooking a hand grenade.
Yeah, and 6x7-9 ? Dont remember the max squad size of regular rifle squads.
but lets say 7, that would mean 42 rifle grenades which is probably more explosives than artillery / bombardment has.
Im not that much of concerned of its cqc capabilities, im more concerned of it becoming the ultimate roombroom from long range aka being next HMG / AA that was capable to wipe the cap points thru walls from safety of distance.
Yeah, because we just cant have underdogs for fun in game. Everything should be on same level of usefulness. That’s how everything in world works. Every game is completely balanced and there’s no game with funny yet useless mechanics.
Ofc they are but considering you could wipe the room every 4s from safety of distance they would still be quite damn OP.
Also in moscow for example the tank HE doesnt trigger on wooden walls.
Thats the point, theyr quite damn hard to balance out.
Give them too much power and theyr OP, decrease it too much and theyr techinally just useless.
So onlyway id see them being room nukes would be limiting them to only infantry 2-3 ? squad, and to 1-2 soldiers max.
They removed free second weapon slot from premiums and nerfed SA rifles for no reason.
They seem to have time and resources.
Adjusting guns is not hard. Its all about numbers.
In certain moscow maps and especiatly in that retarded bomb planting mode it made certain objects absolutely un-doable.

Yeah, most likely. But if we’re speaking of automatics those guns cant really kill entire squads with just 1 shot and are rather heavily affected by deviation ( another lovely feature no one needed )
And smg’s for example to be effective require to be in cqc. Not much you can do with them from lonk range.
Auto-rifles and what else should have bigger drawbacks than they currently have aka alot more recoil.
Point being you very least need to aim at your enemy to get the kill with said automatics.
While the GL would kill you as long as you hit the same room hes in.

Honestly, im fine with the idea GL being tactical nuke as long as its heavily limited but in current terms of having 42 GL’s it would just be way too much.
