if the developers place the fg42 in the “LMG” category in your opinion with which weapon it would be or should be replaced in the semi-auto category?

None, FG is fine where it is. Just give something similar to the americans instead of nerfing and removing everything.

I would be extremely suprised if the devs would remove something that is in the game, so widely used and therefore widly invested in with real and in game currency.
That said, I dont mind the FG42 at all. It is fine where it is right now, the ammo redux made it balanced for me. Dont feel op when using them and dont feel up when fighting against them.

And it applies to everything. In all the games I played where “nerfing campaign” (because it never stops once it starts) begins, nobody gets happier. The ones who complain about wanting stuff to be nerfed will be the ones complaining that their own stuff got nerfed to balance the stuff they wanted nerfed.

but in normandy, vgs weren’t a thing.
so i don’t know how we could perhaps change it.

I never said to nerf or remove I asked “if” the developers will decide to put fg42 in the “LMG” category for you which weapon should replace it
(considering that fg42 is a light machine gun)
Is a simple if question so give your answer and lets talk about wapons 
It’s a rifle. Even lighter than stg44. Shoot fully powered cartridge doesn’t make it a LMG. And keep nerfing everything would just make more people leave the game. You know online players have dropped a lot since April. Now it’s less than 1.5k or something. Even worse.

I dont think there is anything, that could replace it. It was quite a uniqe weapon in the german army, kind of a do it all at once gun. The VG 1-5 is mediocre at best it’s like a STG 44 with only single fire mode. I think most of the people would just use G43’s on regular troopers, because if you have a good trigger finger (click fast) then its pretty effective even in cqc.
Game says elite machinegun and i dont nerf or remove nothing is an IF conversation you dont lose nothing simply talk and thinking
People don’t like what they grinded hard (or even paid) for to be nerfed, let alone removed!

I also think so that it cannot be replaced it is simply impossible even a full g43 is less performing than a 4 star fg42 but exploring new scenarios does not hurt in a conversation and having this kind of conversation maybe it gives rise to new ideas after all we are speaking, what harm there is
Maybe give FG42 and M2 to engineers?
Engi I is fallshrimjager unit, M2 was used mostly by backline soldiers (I know it wasn’t in the normandy but I think it’s a lost cause) so it would fit nicelly.
