Since the only difference between it and the basic kar98k sniper is very small (wood color and a normally unoticable amount of rof), I don’t see how there’s a reason to have it in this game, at level 16 nonetheless.
So I propose an idea: Replace it with a Vz.24 sniper rifle!
These were created and used in ww2. Definitely by the romanians and possibly also by the germans and were availible throughout basically the entire war. So I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to add this in.
Gameplay wise, it’d be the same as the regular Vz.24, just with a 4x scope.
Most of the scopes I’ve seen on it are Romanian IORs, though I did see images with a few different ones, some resembling regular geman optics.
Here’s a few sources, I’m sure you can find more if you look further into it:
Vz at long range ? ew…i rather stick to the pre war. It makes a difference between them both. And the Twitch version man i love that one perhaps even more then the G98 even if its closest to my heart of all sniper rifles so far
I don’t see your problem?
The Vz is simply better as a sniper. It has better hitpower, which makes it more viable as a sniper.
The pre-war kar98k sniper is simply a waste of resources.
yeah its weird in a way stat wise since Vz also has lesser hp reduction at longer ranges when its barrel are shorter. But even when i experimented with them both Vz didnt excel as good as the Kars did in long ranges engagements in my opinion accurate wise. I always had that one for mid range and assault support instead
I used to think that as well that Pre war kar was waste of resources until i upgraded it. Then i understood its value
It’s literally the same. I never saw a difference. I might do a range test later when I have the time. And maybe you could do one as well, if you find the time to do so, so that we could then compare so neither of us could intentionally aim worse on one of them to change the results.
Yeah, at max upgrade, it’s raw rof (the old stat, not including reloads) is I think about 5rpm higher. That makes no difference on a BA sniper.
I’ve never used those, as I find them useless. At cqc, it’s better to use a pistol or hipfire than fiddle with the iron sights, and anywhere further the scope works just fine.
Useless you say ? you got the whole battlefield at your disposal and you can see everything. But yeah 300 might be extreme in some extent. But around 1-200 is the usual range for BAs. If not youre better of with DMRs
What are on about ? Thats def not your job as being an sniper but to provide your team with constant intel and covering fire
I mean i can be pretty accurate with an reg Kar 98 to but the pre war version is more reliable when rly needed + the rof even if slight rly does a difference in situations when followup shots are essential. Its like mp 38 or what its called compared to the mp40. Its slight difference but an experienced user will know its…
