Replace Sd. Kfz. 7 with Opel Blitz

Germany has had the Sd. Kfz. 7 half-track as its APC. Every other faction has a truck. I think the Sd. Kfz. 7 should be replaced with a proper truck instead. The Opel Blitz was Germany’s standard and most common and produced truck and was used everywhere from the very beginning to the end. It was the most significant vehicle to the German war effort

There would be parity that every faction is using a transport truck for their motorized squads as well as representing the famous and most important vehicle of Germany

Both should be added, just fold them together.

The truck is used as a normal vehicle in maps

i’m of the same opinion that the truck should be a sub folder, instead of replacing it.

similar to what happened with the tiger I.

not to be a " weight " or a filler, but an option in the folder for those who wish to get one.

( and, i would like a much newer hd version customizable with camouflages than the… current minecraft - looking one. which you can’t customize )

How about replace the current APC 1 with this truck.

Then add APC 2 to all factions with half track/ tracked transports

Thank you. This is what Ive been saying.

Make the standard APC be a truck for all factions. Then for maybe BR III a halftrack option so:

Sdkfz 7
M3 Halftrack
BTR
Theres a Japanese APC I forget the name of

Id also suggest for folders adding a Fiat truck for Axis and a Universal Carrier for Allies. (or we could even have a Canadian military pattern truck foldered with Studebaker and the UC foldered with M3 halftrack)

Ive said it before, I say it again, add the Australian or Canadian variant of the Universal Carrier if theyre worried about the effect on the event UC.

Regarding the M3 Halftrack currently available as a Soviet premium. Ive never understood why a premium in one tree should mean it can never be used again.
In War Thunder we have an American captured Zero, that doesnt stop the Zero being included as a tech tree option for Japan. Likewise we have captured Churchill and Lancaster in German premium tree, that doesnt stop those being freely available in the UK tree.

If you want to use a lend-lease vehicle with USSR? Pay premium. But if youre playing as Western Allies you should be able to use the standard vehicles of western Allies.

Indeed between the premium USSR M3 Halftrack and event Universal Carrier, if these were both enforced it would mean the Allies wouldnt have any armoured APC options left. (except an M5 kangaroo which would be OP).

Final comment: The main reason we havent got an Opel Blitz as standard German APC as we are constantly reminded is because they are generated on maps so would be indistinguishable.
I would suggest either the APC has camo pattern OR replace the generated Opel Blitzs with another truck, there were various makes/models including captured French trucks.

It would be really cool if different maps had different vehicles. Weve already got a 1930s car unique to Stalingrad and Japanese trucks unique to Pacific.

Normandy and Ardennes could have French vehicles like the Citroen Traction Avant and Renault AHN trucks, Tunisia could have British CMP trucks like a Morris CS8, (assuming the Ford F30 was in TT folder), Berlin some driveable VW Beetles and Mercedes L3000 etc.

Theoretically other transport vehicles could be folders together. But…….

I think specifically armed APCs should be a separate squad, be it APC 2 or the occasional Premium/ event. So we could have the current and original APCs that are basic transports; and the armed ones. I argue it’s because the armed APCs are of a different nature entirely because they’re more of a combat vehicle than a taxi

I would first like to see some sort of small APC comparable to Bren Carrier.

We could have APC II I suppose.

How about this:

Allies
APC I is Studebaker and foldered Ford F30 CMP. (Id make them BR I)

APC II is M3 Halftrack and foldered Australian Universal Carrier (with single Vickers machine gun). (BR III)

Note: Vickers machine gun refers to the WW1 era water cooled machine gun.

First I would say I’d love to have the Loyd Carrier added.

Second, for Germany they could add the Kettenkrad. It would only have 2 crew
