still totally not an indicator. This is like thursday forum topic, whatever. Nobody comes here anyway. Obviously getting high enough votes anyway. I don’t understand how Pz2 is NOT OP. Crew 4 - more than ANY soviet tank. Perfect Machine guns, for these maps. Nice sights. Fast. Goodness at level 1. How is that NOT op?
Outperforms on any aspect, against anything Soviets have. Only thing that has half a chance is BT-7, which is level 12 unlock.
I’d argue that nearly 100 people voting on it is a pretty solid indicator.
Now can you stop arguing about a tank in a MG thread?
I think this was brought up before, but a bren might make more sense than a madsen or a BAR.
Though I know very little about Soviet infantry weapons apart from SMG production.
Well they did get Bren’s as part of LL… I’ve not been able to find any numbers, but there’s several illustration of Universal carriers in Soviet service with Bren’s fitted - whether or not hte infantry every used any I have no idea…
The whole purpose of the universal carrier is to carry machine guns, mortars, and supplies for infantry.
You’re supposed to take the bren out of it before you use it.
Not necessarily - in Commonwealth service it was often a recce vehicle, and you would fight from it mounted.
when it was used as a carrier for 3" mortars they would dismount to be used, but the Australian 3" version at least also allowed to to be used from inside the vehicle.
Everything smaller could be used from the vehicle - including Bren and Vickers guns, PIAT, Boyes AT rifles and 2" mortars.
It could yes, but it wasn’t the purpose of the carrier, I should have clarified.
Too many people think it’s an IFV and I wasn’t sure if you were one.
No it wasn’t an IFV - it didn’t carry enough infantry for starters!! lol But it was not just a small armoured jeep either.
Many of them were used for transport roles of course - towing, freight, moving small numbers of troops, but it was most definitely expected to be a fighting vehicle and was often primarily employed in roles where it was used as such.
You have to consider that those who voted that Pz-2 is not OP are probably all german mains. I believe You once said yourself that there is something wrong with Panzer so why are we having this argument? You also said that more german mains bought the CBT and they don’t want their fav tank being nerfed.
…
LOL I thought this was a tank thread
preatty much debatable, because, the problem is, like me and many, whenever i encounter pz 2, i have no problem to deal with them using explosive packs. or in some rare occasion, with the ptsrd.
i think most of the people complain about the pz 2 as they the russian do not have many ways to counter it. but i’m not entirely sure…
most of the complain that i have seen so far, is from those that wan’t to see the whole german side burn.
and whenever they send a picture of them shooting at the tank, they always keep shootin in the same place over penning.
so it’s weird.
but enough talking for me on this topic.
back to this main thread,
if think that the madsen should remain as some were actually used during moscow.
insthead, i would suggest to include couple of more.
such as the brens, the bars, and maximes.
while the german had s2-200 and mg34s.
Yeah, enough about tanks on this thread.
Maxim is a very cool weapon and it should be a stationary machine gun for Russia. By stationary, I mean it could be built with engineer. Maxim was a HMG and had better RoF and accuracy than the DP 27. Some variants had shields around them which protected from SMG fire. This machine gun is much closer to german MG-34 and 42 because DP, being a LMG, is too weak to be a stationary machine gun
If the Madsen had been phased out of active service by the time of WW 2 or alternatively, if effectively none were present during the Battle of Moscow, then they naturally should be replaced with something more appropriate. The DP comes to mind first.
Some Madsen had been used in the Battle of Moscow. Check here: Madsen shouldn't be in this game - #4 by 21914198
In that case there is no reason to remove them from the Moscow campaign. Instead new machine guns should be added in addition to them. Let each and every player decide for themselves what they want to bring to the battlefield.
I don’t really get why the devs aren’t using the ZB-26 as a placeholder weapon for the Madsen at this point. It looks close enough lmao
Yeah, I would love to see RKM wz. 28 in game. Whole campaign Invasion of Poland (also with Soviets) would be great, but it won’t sell well :v
Alright. Then I would support the wz. 1928 becoming an premium or similar MG. Their performance isn’t that different, and since the Madsen was used in Moscow it has a historical reason to be in-game.
