Replace Kar98k with VG-1 (Berlin)

Title says it all.

Maybe this picture is deceiving but this is a bolt action rifle fed from external G43 magazines.

This would leave the Germans with pretty much only last ditch rifles.

Lol wtf. The Germans still had and used all their Kar 98ks they had before lol.

You’d still have the kriegsmodell kar98ks

Nah. Not needed. VG 5-1 (in files) and VG-2 are already ingame

We did play with vg5_1 in alpha.
Was a amazing semi auto weapon. One of my fav back then besides the stg.

VG 5-1 is not a bolt action.

Why not add VG-1?

What would be the point? It’s not fun to have another bolt action rifle without any changes to make it fun and unique from the Kar98K

They can add another and another bolt action
The thing is, right now we have like kriegsmodel, vg2, prewar Kar, Kar98 and lebel (Atleast I do) if I m not missing another bolt action model.

Do we really need another??

hurrr new variety sux
hurr new guns sux
hurr no point in a gun that is fundamentally different than the Kar98k

you realize it’s fed from an external box magazine and not stripper clips right?

It’s also the only campaign it could ever be used in when the Kar98k can be used in literally all 4 campaigns.

Lebel is the only one that is actually different and fun to use

Indeed. 10 rounds of pure fun.
The reload it’s kinda painful to be fair, but it’s a good trade-off for the power per shot with good ironsights and a bayonet

I guess it would be different but once people get the G43s, better K98s and StGs they would just be in the scrap bin. Probably a good premium squad weapon for sure

Ah yes going straight for the insults aren’t we?
After looking into it be nice, maybe replacing the Luftwaffe drilling. Like the MAS-36 and Lee Enfield

One of the reasons I hoped weapon jamming would remain in the game is to encourage the continued use of bolt actions. 1 jam in one thousand rounds fired would be considered above average for an M1 carbine.

Bolt actions = no jamming
semi-autos: slight chance of jamming
full autos: slightly higher chance of jamming

At this point I find it difficult to not pure fleet to M1 Garands or G43s. There’s very few drawbacks if any drawbacks. engagement ranges aren’t high enough to warrant avoiding the damage drop off, no real diference in weight or reliability. It’s p much a straight upgrade, especially when it’s a higher starred one.

@wolfy706 ahh the usual tempo of talk shit and then go :((( abloo abloo why u nasty? when someone talks back to you.

Where did I insult you in my post? I even semi agreed with you

I agree there is essentially no reason to keep the bolt actions once you get the semi autos unless you really like the bolt action game play. I tossed all bolt guns once I got the semis

I don’t remember the last time I noticed, but in early days of this game, when we reloaded a Kar98 the bolt action used to jam on the reloading clip and there was a extra animation to clear it and finish the bolt action.

I don’t remember the last time I saw it, but was a good example of a “jam”, and would be nice to see more guns having problems in-game.

Agree and… I disagree.
I disagree in:
I m pretty good if I say myself with bolt actions (that old muscle memory from cod1 and cod2 days using only rifles is Still here :joy:) to a point that I kill an enemy in split seconds of aim.

I agree (in tossing them for a better weapon, but not semis)
If I toss the bolt actions, it must be for a weapon with auto capability like fg42 in normandy.

Doesn’t the VG-2 serve that purpose already?

It does. But he wants a bolt action with a g43 magazine.
