I’m guessing this mechanic was added to decrease the effect of bhopping/crouch jump spamming players. It’s good that we’re trying to reduce this but this isn’t the optimal way - this could be achieved through fixing the movement perks to be less arcadey and most importantly, fixing the netcode and improving server quality (as that’s why it seems hard to hit people who do this - the servers literally cannot keep up with how fast they are moving).
Please consider removing this mechanic as it does nothing but slow down the game, it’s like slapping a plaster on an axe wound, we’re still bleeding, albeit slightly slower now.
Also, could we please put major changes like this in patchnotes? Nobody likes this style of constant stealth patches. We do notice it.
I agree dude, bunnyhopping is totally unrealistic. It is never meant for any ww2 games to have this kind of mechanic, it ruined the immersion and it is more of arcade call of duty style!!! I hope they would fix or rework this so it would match with what Hell let loose like!!
I don’t see that issue with the slow down. A bomb or grenade explodes near to you, it’s going to fuck you up. You get fucking shot, yeah it just might cause you to break your stride.
The whole “less skill” blah blah blah argument is dog shit. Perhaps it might be in a 1 v 1 setting but this game isn’t based off small scale 1 v 1. Bombs, grenades, artillery, tanks ripping MG rounds through walls all have the potential to hit you. Wtf does that randomness of those events hitting you have to do with “less skill” because”it effects muh bunny hopping, COD run and gun play style”
Those poo poo’ing on any hint of realism and shutting in those who actually enjoy a bit of immersion, perhaps go play your hero shooters and let us enjoy just a tiny bit of the WWII setting and experience.
that’s what this game is with perks like jump height, vitality, move speed… and why does everyone shit on cod, as if enlisted is a better shooter? enlisted has shit servers and after more than a year can’t get reloads right on some rifles, admit we’re only here for ww2 and the ai squads mechanic. COD absolutely is a better game mechanically and technically, you just shit on it because you’re a hipster redditor and because it’s popular.
What do you mean by the slow-down mechanic? The one you get when you get shot? Why would that be removed, it makes perfect sense. But yes I agree on combatting b-hoppers with perks like 150% crouch and jump height being reduced
meh, i don’t have an issue if slowdown happens and you get hit by a full sized cartridge or something, but if i get hit right on the edge of an arty aoe or i take like 1 dmg from some smg 50 metres away, i shouldn’t be slowing down. but devs will only apply things with broad strokes and not consider things on a case by case basis with nuance, so removal is probably the best option until they start doing that.
you clearly haven’t played much cod because enlisted has never been like cod, they have only ever had vague similarity - low ttk. you talk about realism, but realistically getting shot doesn’t necessarily slow you down, especially in high adrenaline frontline combat
ok i guess the conqust gamemode is also one, but that’s not exactly ‘core gameplay loop’
Have you ever been shot? I have. Unless you get hit in CNS (central nervous system) or a leg bone you wont even likely break stride. You don’t get slowed down, it just feels like getting pinched really hard on entry/exit.
Slowdown is stupid and nobody asked for it. It is a crutch for players that hit non-vital areas and those who spray SMG at long ranges, and doesn’t promote aiming better or better positioning as any tard spamming bullets and hitting you in the big toe at 100 meters will slow you to a standstill. It isn’t fun, it isn’t promotional of better gameplay, it is annoying at best and absolutely infuriating at worst, and it bring no realism and no balance.
sounds like you’ve never been shot mate, or like you don’t know how momentum works
sure if you take a full size cartridge to the leg, you’ll stumble… but at range, shit slows down, and you can take more than you think when adrenaline is pumping
The “low skill crutch” argument is laughingly such a pile of dog shit. Just stop with this illogical and false line of reason.
Getting randomly shot by a bot, randomly hit by a stray round, randomly hit by an explosion from a grenade or bomb not intended for you, randomly hit by and explosive pack or hit by HE from a tank all have nothing to “low skill”. They’re all part of the game and all slow you in some way or the other.
So is using artillery a crutch? What about barbed wire. Wire slows you down. How about grenades? Flamethrower? 500 lb bombs? All “low skill crutches” going by your logic.
These are all part of the Enlisted experience. All are elements of game play that make Enlisted unlike like most of the generic, copy cat shooters that have been released the last several years.
GTFO. I served 16 years active duty, multiple combat tours, attended the 18Delta SOF Medic course and deployed as a platoon medic.
Citing a single example in no way shape or form represents the overwhelming majority of traumatic battlefield injuries.
And that’s just penetrating trauma. That’s not addressing getting knocked off your feet, the associated heat and blast waves from explosions and how they effect your lungs, your vision and your internal organs the moment of impact.
As a combat veteran myself, a combat medic that’s extensively experienced in treating Battlefield trauma and that’s well read on military history, I’d say it’s a pretty fair mechanic and adds just a touch of common sense realism to the Enlisted experience.
They all happened before and I was fine with it. Thing is, they didn’t slow you to a standstill, being prevented from moving when the game is about an open battlefield isn’t fun. Additionally, I did not mention these things. Non sequiturs have no place here.
Press 7, click map. You tell me how much skill that takes. It’s still lots better than when there was no cap on how many artillery strikes could exist at once, so not an issue.
Barbed wire is gay, but at least you can just go around it or destroy it. You can see it and prepare.
Don’t care, people will spam grenades. Explosives kill quite efficiently, and the game is based around capturing structures.
Glad they were buffed, flamethrowers are cool and fun to use.
It’s a bomb, it goes boom. If you are out in the open then you know the risks. Not an issue.
When used effectively these weapons/abilities grant easy kills. The key words here are “used effectively”. You can tape your mouse button down, shove said mouse up your ass and shake it like you are at the club, and still get a kill because if you hit someone ONCE from any range, through any object, they are slowed to a standstill. It isn’t fun and feels cheap.
