With how it’s set up right now the system sucks imo. It’s nice to have and I don’t wish to sound ungrateful.
However it is rather infuriating. I can understand both not being able to ban maps completely and the maps being split up into individual game modes completely. But the low limit of dislikes combined with the fact that with the few I do have I can’t even ban maps makes for a system that is not only unsatisfying but actively infuriating to use. For example in the Allied Pacific Front I can dislike, not ban, one map and have a single dislike left. That is, imo, far worse than having no control over it because now I have to see which map or mode I dislike the most and hope that it’s not the only one available after all so I’m stuck on it anyways.
I see two possible solutions to this problem.
1:Keeping the limited number but switching from dislikes to proper banning of maps. While this would not help with not being able to choose more than one map it would avoid getting that map even after disliking it. With this comes the main point against not banning maps completely. Not being able to play should that be the only map available.
2. Removing the limit of dislikes and likes, should someone be affected by that. While this would not stop people from getting maps or modes they dislike it would decrease the chance of getting them as they’d be free to choose as many of the maps and modes as they desire. If all available maps are liked or dislike then it would revert to standard matchmaking as if none of them were marked so there shouldn’t be an issue with disliking too many maps.
