i’ve been playing 10+ hours a day on enlisted and im loving it so far.
Planes are well balanced. Easy to take it down, Realistic and accurate on history!
Only one issue i have in enlisted is the deathcam upon being killed.
Many, many times whenever i find a good spot to snipe or use my tank to kill troops with the deathcam they know exactly where im at and they sneak up behind me and kill me.
I dont think this is accurate what so ever.
If you die, your dead. You shouldnt enable to see where you got killed from.
I think that should be turned off or deleted from the game.
Its not fair to see where you get killed from. Whenever i get killed by someone i dont use that deathcam to track that player because to me thats cheating and not accurate/realistic
Hopefully more people agree and we get this removed from the game.
I would agree, many times I would hide on a “shelf” and I would kill a soldier that is controlled by a player, seconds later he would come in again (controlling one of his AI’s) and would just blast me (cuz he knew exactly where I was, if I didn’t move that is). It completely destroys any tactics you could think of to defend a house per se. It just encourages people to take their “worst” AI, rush in, gather info, and rush you with another AI. You dont need more brain to figure out that tactic! And as a defender, only thing you can do is: relocate or stay on the same spot. Both are not 100% as efficient as if an enemy didnt know in which exact “room” you are hiding in. As one Twitch streamer said (which I was watching for drops ofc.) “The best tactic is to throw as much soldiers on your enemy to win.” (Not the exact words, but you get the point).
Other people have suggested this before, but unfortunately, its here to stay.
The deathcam feature actively deters players from camping, as some maps would become utter grinds where people would just sit in the same position and snipe, not actively engaging in the match.
Its bad enough knowing where someone is, but still not being able to get them quick enough, imagine someone killing you with a hope in hell of seeing them, such as in the brush on Fortified District or high on a hill on D-Day.
Even with deathcam enabled, it is still easy enough to get 5 or 6 kills on one squad before someone gets you back.
The easiest way to get around is to move around.
But no, the kill cam has definitely a place in the game and so far there hasn’t been a really good argument when it comes to removing it.
Removal of kill cam would spark a new wave of snipers who don’t bother doing much in the entire battle and just find a cheesy spot near the enemy spawn and would sit there the enitre match.
How do I know that this would happen - Because I have played Heroes and Generals where they gave the snipers an ability for the kill cam to be fully removed and they never did anything else than sit near the spawn and gunning down fresh units.
Switch your position. Don’t camp a single spot on the map. I play snipers and tanks quite often yet I after some amount of kills I just switch my location and start over.
i agree with you, they should remove the deathcam feature because it’s totaly unrealistic and it’s completely at the opposite of the game’s spirit.
as an Alpha tester i’ve seen this feature removed during one of the testing session and it was awesome, you really feel more realism and the game gets so much more immersive, i’m wondering why they enabled this option, maybe because of the whole bunch of battlefield/callofduty whinners that dont understand the meaning of “hardcore FPS” and “realism” i’ve seen an excuse of this system beeing “YoU dOnT sEe ThE sHoOtEr BuT tHe SqUaDmAtE sEe ThE sHoOtEr”, i think these guys dont understand the concept of being ambushed and the concept of “ULTRA INSTINCT DOESNT EXIST IN REAL LIFE”
even if they dont remove this feature they could “nerf” it by only showing a 3rd person camera of the player who killed you just like in War Thunder and it would be better to play sniper units like they should be played : not as a MLG-360noscope kikoolol but as a methodic and patient hunter
Don’t diversify the subject, it’s not camping, it’s anti-camp. It is enough to change your place, but you do not want to spoil your mood. Never forget that this is a game, otherwise you should have deleted the game when you died, and even if you were injured, you could not use that soldier for at least 6 months. The more fun camping is, the more fun it is to anti-camping. Sadly, if this discussion is not going to be level, I am out.
Once your soldier dies your account will be deleted for ever and you will have to write a letter to a virtual family expressing how heroic your soldier was and after that have a 4 hour paperwork task to be arranged for his burial.
After that you will be holding a virtual funeral.
Jokes aside, there hasn’t been a single good argument for removing kill cam. All people say is that “BUT ITS UNREALISTIC”… and? Enlisted is not a full military sim. If you want that then maybe play Arma or Post Scriptum.
Unless all you do is spawncamp enemy spawn then I don’t see a sinlge reason why kill cam is so bad for you.
Look… i’ve been waiting for this game forever and been playing Heroes & Generals till this came out. In H&G you got a badge that affects only you making no deathcam out of your kills, doesnt mean people won’t hunt you down since shots can be seen and heard so taking death cam away isnt that big of an issue on a game where maps are too small to even properly snipe, you are not on some mountain behind the bushes, you are 50 meters away on some crater crossing the street, even without deathcam you can be killed, deathcam is not needed or necessary, moreso in a game where you have a stock of lives you can throw away to see where the sniper is.
I can keep going mentioning how the AI automatically aims at players once they enter in range and shoot at you (missing a lot of them) even if you are behind a door frame, sandbags, dirt pile or bushes so everyone knows where you are either way. With the leisure the amount of AIs and extra lives you get here, having deathcam is redundant and unnecessary, if anything it would make you actually need to use your eyes and hear where the shots are coming from rather than spend an AI to instantly know where the guy is shooting from.
Deathcam exists to avoid campers on shooter games with smaller maps where the intended gameplay is to move around, not to sit down. On games with larger maps with more terrain features such as Battlefield and Call of Duty deathcam has always been dumb, learn to watch and hear if you complain to people wishing it wasnt a feature in Enlisted. It is not only unrealistic, it is downright dumb and ruins the gameplay of wargames, learn the spots, hear the footsteps, watch the tracers, that’s what skill is, deathcam kills realism and skill, all i’m seeing in this game is people rushing in like dunces, that’s not how war was nor how shooter games should be played.
If the reason is to avoid and prevent against campers, as you wrote the fix is simple.
Create an area on the map near the respaws, that if the player enters this area, he will automatically be shown on the map like in War Thunder in realistic mode.
If approved it will please most of the players and at the same time prevent everyone against eventual campers
Kill cam should stay. And If you want to talk about realism and skill then realistically real snipers learned not to shoot from the same location too much for a reason. because they knew sooner or later they would be spotted.
It’s called counter sniper fire. So they learned to fire a few times and then move. That’s where the skill comes in. Make a few kills and then find another location.
As for listening for shots and hearing footsteps that’s what the kill came simulates. With all the arty, mortar and plan spam as well as a complete lack of directional audio, the kill cam simulates your squad mates doing this …
Yes the AI will eventually fire on their own but a good sniper (that wants to stay alive) doesn’t just sit in one spot after more than a few shots.
