Remove Win Condition from Military Rank scoring

Multiple commentors warned Darkflow about win rate as factor for ranking would turn the regular game into Stalingrad Event #2, where almost everyone zergs into one faction in each campaign and being in a 4-man squad would be a minimum requirement.

To further make this clear, from the description of rank 9-20

winning is the minimum way to advance rank. Because you only get 1 ranking point for any number of battle hero awards, and you lose 1 point for defeat, you cannot advance in rank if you play the underpopulated side as a solo. Your only option is to form a stacked 4-man premade (contributing to the team imbalance problem) and even then you will likely have an uphill battle. However if you zerg like a no-skill lemming into the overpopulated faction and win, you get 1 point. even if you contributed basically nothing.

With win rate as a factor in military ranking, you are not measuring personal performance. You are measuring if a player will go with the path of least resistance and spawn at least once, and you are handing out participation awards.

Even if a player chooses to ignore the Military Rank system and “just play the game” they are being swept along in a tidal wave of lemmings that are turning matches into one-sided steamrolls.

Win rate as a factor in Military Ranking was always a bad idea. Players warned Darkflow about it. It is causing the faction populations to skew to the extreme and making the game borderline pointless for normal solo players. There was already a well established precedent for this ruining matches in the Stalingrad Event, so this outcome is not unusual or surprising and there is no excuse that for it to not have been accounted for.

Win rate must be removed from the Military Rank scoring.

they just worsened the problem, now ppl will play the easiset faction to get fast and easy points.

and this will worsen the quitting problem

I don’t even see how this type of system was necessary in the first place. We should be focusing on the game, new content, QoL updates, and bug fixes, not a weird ass janky ranky system.

I just played with guy that had General rank (18) after just one day, it was in Berlin Axis

Cuz I like to call myself general!
But why should I play the underdog faction and risk to lose my rank (or missing the opportunity to be Marshal and win a price) when I can easy peasy join an easy faction like allies Moscow or allies Tunisia, steamroll my enemies, gain fast points on my rank?

The ranks are nice and I like it but they didn’t help the game at all.

Ridiculous. The guy just won all the time and got 1-2 easy batches per match.
They all are aiming for that stupid price for being Marshal.
By the way: what is that price?!

I guess 1 silver order , but seriously they didn’t tell, yet.

BTW, from level 15 rank is showing next to your name in killfeed, just nice addition.

Hope it’d be something like 1 or 2 bronze just to laugh :stuck_out_tongue:

You only lose points if you’re 2nd Lieutenant or higher, and if you always get battle hero it will be +1 and -1 on defeat for 0 total change

I mean why even bother, ranks are fully useless so I will leave games just like before if I have to

 i expect 2 Bronze Orders and 1 Silver Soldier :call_me_hand:

I was pretty surprised to see players at the end of the day with ranks of Marshall, I really didn’t even look into it I just assumed it would probably take you several weeks to get that kind of rank

Absolute truth

Forcing players to win will create lots of cancerous play style.
(Of course I pay 0 attention to this system. And I just want to stay as lowest rank as possible)

Honestly I think only desertions/leaving the game and battle hero awards should have impact on the rank, so if you place No.1 or just play well for the losing side and do not leave, you still progress through the ranks for being a “good sport” rather than just being a 4-stack sweat.
