It’s ok keeping them on vehicles and fixed mgs, but seeing star wars laser being fired from my sten kills a lot of the immersion.
On vehicles belts there is like ( for example on german ones) only one tracer every three rounds, the other two rounds are almost invisible as they should be
They could add a little indicator telling you were shots are coming from to simulate the soldier hearing the rounds, that could work honestly.
But you can hear that in game right?, at least I can.
I dislike the kill cam thing and ya the tracers are a bit over the top atm.
The kill-cam thing is very useful in identifying cheaters though. Like if they kill you with a grenade but are 300m away behind 4 hills and in their spawn kind of thing. Laugh if you want, there was a stretch of time that was happening regularly against us.
As far as the tracers part, I don’t really see any issue with how it is currently. Especially because it needs to be considered that not everyone uses marks to help identify enemy positions. (Which is really annoying.) There have been many times where our team is getting massacred by a team of SMGs, nobody is marking them, but because of the tracers I can find them from the air to deal with the problem.
Another instance is when they are camped out somewhere on the side of the enemy spawn. Without some visual way of identifying where they are, it can be very problematic.
I think its just the perpetual stacking of totally unrealistic elements to the game that’s a bit distracting at times.
I never really trust marks from the air because they kind of lie, the enemy is always moving.
The tracers do make it much more easy to spot the enemy from the air, and this does pay dividends when dropping bombs often, but I can see the player base starting to bitch and moan about this, like they do with everything that kills them, that eventually gets neutered, like the Tanks MG’s, HE, exc…
Agree on tracers, almost to the point of removing all of them. It’s totally detrimental when anyone can see exactly where you are firing from, eliminating any kind of static shooting and making this a run&gun only game.
