Ther first things i was stoked to get was the Mk I Grant. I could research it, since i had the M5A1 Stuart already. “Requipred to complete and purchase all previous researches in this line”
Right… got to get M8 Scott too i suppose.
NOPE NOT ENOUGH.
Turns out you need everything in a line to progress. And i am pissed. Rightfully, might i add.
This got me to investigating.
Im researching the Panzer IV H rn. so i can get the Squad i need, to get to JP4 and the Tigers.
Nuh Uh!
Ill have to go back all the way to the front of the Line, and research all the shit from tunisia and moscow i never wanted or needed.
And the same shit goes for everything else in my GER tech tree. I will never have the StG’s and FG’s until all that level 1 shit is caught up with.
And i refuse.

I will not spend time on things i dont want.

This should definitely be changed. I saw a helper saying this works as intended. How can this be intended way?
I have put hundreds of hours into this game to unlock my weapons and vehicles. Now I am unable to continue my research. I am forced to spend another 600K research points to only reach my current research of rifles. JUST RIFLES. In total it is about 2 million research points for stuff I will never use nor I want to.

in that case, no, you do not need the M8. in case of a slot with more vehicles in it, you only need the one on the left most slot. same goes for weapons obviously
Isn’t it funny how they added a tech tree to stop us from grinding things we didn’t want?
But now… we’re still grinding things we dont want.

Nothing of what you just said has any coherence, let alone a connection with the Subject matter. This topic isnt about vehicle selection & loadout. Its about research.
i am around 1,4 million xp away to unlock a tiger II, not to mention the mountain of silver to buy all that previous stuff.
and i have already unlocked stuff in the tree, so i will be able to skip exactly 8 steps already researched.
how long could it take for a new player just installing the game to reach KT II? did anyone made the calculations? and the silver, i wonder. those things aint cheap, oh noes.
could it be that at the extremely very least, they remove the need to PAY SILVER for the stuff you already researched? i mean, before we used to get the items for free…now if you dont give the item for free, at least dont force us to pay it, that could be a good first step…

Paying silver for the Squads is not the issue for me.
Not being able to claim the MP43/1 because none of the italian rifles are researched however, is a big issue for me.

How else are they supposed to artificially increase the grind then it’s all intended

I agree, why do you wanna waste more peoples time for stuff they really don’t want. Yet again the snail does encourage the constant grind wish they would realize people have jobs and lives.
Hey devs, can i have my Panzer III J now?
No, im not going to research these italian tanks.

The devs promised to allow us to keep our progression and this hasn’t been the case. We should absolutely be able to continue research and be able to buy items from where we left off in the Campaign system. I came so incredibly close to installing because of this.
People defend this by saying it’s just like WarThunder. Enlisted had a campaign model and many players were a good ways in several campaigns before the merge. The Enlisted didn’t start with the research system and the transition is awkward and screws people.
I will definitely say the amount of items required to be researched per faction needs to be somewhat standardized. Every faction should have the same amount of items and EXP requirements similar to the Russians. Any extra items should be foldered so that they are optional and don’t act as bloat like they do currently. For example Germany shouldn’t have ANY Italian items in the main lines and they should all be foldered. Many British items should also be foldered under USA items. The folder system is there and should be used more and they can put the Italian and British items in their own tech tree if they ever separate them.

this clearly needs to be changed. no new players is gonna accept something like that. especially not grinding months just to play a tiger that he can play after a few hours/days in other games.
“but how will make DF money then?”
→ premium for faster grinding (the grind is huge enough even if you can pick specific items), high quality customization (currently very limited) and selling additional squad slots (still waiting for the christmas discount, huge mistake if DF doesnt apply the sales to that).
the game desperately needs to find and bind new players, not chase them away with extremely new-players-unfriendliness

Havent played for a month, came back to check the goings on, and apparently no attempts have been made at resolving the issue. Guess ill be back some time next month then.
Still no Panzer III J-long even tho i have reasearched and purchased whats before it.
i see no point in playing the game anymore, when i have to research things i dont want, to keep progressing. This is exactly the opposite of what was promised before the merge.
