Trooper class should be allowed to use the shotgun. Any class should be allowed really.
You get shotgun at level 4 but cant start unlocking the modify tree till you get Assaulter 2 at level 26.
Allow my shotgun some more freedom in the ranks.

It’s not like the shot gun is useful anymore
It is.
But maybe one of the reasons is the early unlock and latter upgrade tree and, locked at a squad that a smg is far more eficient.
If we had the option to equip shotguns on diferent soldiers we would see them more often on the batlefield.
Allowing them for troopers would be great, as of now they are mostly unused as I would usually rather have a grenade or ammo pouch for my assaulters than a secondary weapon that is less effective than my main weapon.
