Remove the 'feature' that makes tank explode with one hit when no crew is inside

I can understand why this happens when all the crew is dead, but if i bail and clear infantry around my tank with the intent of repairing it, why does it die when someone hits it with a 9? Please stop this from happening when tankers remain alive. TY

I understand your frustrastion, but what about when crew bail out because only one member is alive, why should someone else be denied a tank slot?

Especially when you see crew with revolvers just camping because they don’t want to die?

It works both ways.

A tank that is abandoned is easy kill, somebody will destroy it for those sweat xp points.
And I’d add a 30-60s timer after whitch the tank explodes if there is nobody inside. In case somebody will abandon a tank in some safe place. “Crew abandoned the tank and destroyed it” kind of thing.

literally this

I mean, unless you are actively watching the tank, you rarely known if it is abandoned or just an idle player.
Admittedly, I’ll pop a few rounds at a tank if I see one in the hope it’s been left behind.

So what? You treat it like an active tank unless you can see it’s abandoned. It’s quite normal behawiour.

Then you will die because of your own greed. Not my nor game’s fault.

What?

I never die from it?
I look out of a window/ over trench/ round corner, see tank, fire couple of shots at it, either it dies or is distracted from its original target to look for me.
I move round.

Usually how it goes.
Never die and i couldn’t care less about the xp, I’d rather the tank be gone for the sake of the team than the xp it grants, i can make that back by taking the point or killing off some infantry.

The fact that the tank get destroyed if nobody is inside doesn’t disturb me.

What make me upset is when i need to go outside to repair with one crew, all the crew get out and die while I repair. And then I get back inside with just a gunner.

Why not make all the crew except the player exit the tank?
It will solve OP problem too.

That would work better, give us the opinion to bail out as a group or exit solo.

*Why not make all the crew stay inside while the player exit the tank?

It make more sense like this.

In addition to the idea of the timer (in case the tank is empty, and they are not repairing it or there are no survivors or the tankers who left have moved away enough), I think we should remove the possibility of destroying the empty tank with a hand gun (It’s very absurd)

You can go around the last issue.

Once you spawn a tank, get out, press x on your tank so your crew members get inside it.

Next time you leave to repair, you I’ll leave it alone.

Since I m at it:Protip: if you have the loader perk, you can keep switching rounds mid reload and freeze the reload time. So once you need any type of round, you have it in a second at any time.

Protip2: at mid repair circle, you can press the key enter the tank and both repair and enter the tank circle will finish at same time saving you seconds outside your tank and still do the repair.

Thanks for the first tip. It’s awesome.

I knew the rest. The swapping ammo perk is a must have. The tank loader is maybe the first character to upgrade out of every squads.

I don’t understand very well the unic gunner aim perk tho.

And do you know how to configure the command to have one button dedicated to brakes?
By default it’s on “move backward/brake”. So sometime I… move backward (surprising, i know).
