This is exactly the opposite of what you promised before the merge. I will not play the game if there is no point in progressing. Im locked out of every single piece of equipment i still want to get with germany, until ive “cleaned up” my techtree and filled in the blanks until rank V.

I agree. I finished the research for the 80mm mortar for Soviets then was told because I didn’t have some of the AT rifles and a flamethrower researched, I couldn’t get the mortar.
So I had to grind through tons more games to get equipment that I never use, while getting devastated by greyzone tanks that I could have been taking out with that mortar, just to get it.
Totally agreed. The current progress system is most primitive than war thunder.

No, the merge was done so that you wouldn’t have to unlock the SAME THING multiple times.
Seen lots of these threads, you really thought you would be able to boot up the game and immediately unlock the King Tiger? LMAO, LOL, etc.
My solution for this problem is quite easy and it would made progression tiers (not talking about BRs) more significant.
After achieving this milestone, you are allowed to grind new tier.
And with this possibility, you should be allowed to start grind any new line.
Meaning:
You will grind only rifles and smgs in tier I. But since you don’t like tier I tanks, you’ll completely ignore all of them.
But after reaching option to grind new tier, you can start grind tanks here.
But you still can’t skip research in line in that particular tier

But i HAVE Panther G. So i should be able to research and claim both Tiger E and Jagdpanzer IV without issues.
