NO MORE PPSH(S), NO MORE FEDEROV 1912, you get this idea. this stuff is starting to drive me crazy.
No, thanks.
Prototypes are definitely interesting content. And there’s no reason for them to not be present in tech trees as well.
I would prefer if prototype weapons were kept to a minimum but I prefer them over captured weapons because their just boring.
We haven’t heard you, do you want more prototypes from uncle Gaijin?
prototypes gives unique spice to every factions~
Prototypes are cool, I will admit, but I think that they should stay to events/premium/BP. They shouldn’t be in the TT
10 hours until I get more likes, so have one here:
On principle, I fully agree (you’re shocked no doubt ). I have said this before and I’ll say it again:
Tech Trees should strive to represent commonly used gear during the war, unless game balance requires otherwise.
In practice, as stated above, some wiggle room is warranted in some cases. Game balance has a need of it’s own, wether due to outright weak BR line-up or total lack of a tactical niche some things are needed in the tree. So, I will accept the inclusion of items such as the AS-44 (even if I think it should have been a event weapon, so Germany could stay unique, but both the Federov 1912 and the Urgan felt like needless powercreep for no reason and should have been event guns too), or to be honest BR 4-5 japan in its entierty.
However, what I will absolutely not accept are special favours like the only silent weapon in a tech tree going to the Soviets, and to a (what seems to be) non-existant gun at that! If anyone deserves that honour it should be the British with the Sten Mk II (S) due to being the most successful and widely used suppresed design at the time, but more importantly no one should have a tech-tree suppressed weapon, they’re too rare and would undermine the uniqueness of similar BP, Event and Premium weapons!
The word is compromise, there’s a middle ground for everything…
I think that TT weapons should stay on the more “realistic side”. However, I think that adding things just for balancing is not the best idea when other options are available. The Ofenrohr is a good example. I would also argue that 1:1 balance is not necessary as each nation has thier own things making for more unique gameplay.
the soviets have a 91/30 with a BraMit, if we NEED a TT suppressor, I would prefer it be one of those with no scope. Still, I think that suppressors should stay to Non-TT things.
Yeah, AT launchers…
I am willing to entertain the M20, because at least it was in development, and more importantly a indigenous design rather than a lazy copy-paste captured weapon (captured weapons are, IMO, even worse than prototypes). I still refuse to use them.
Even so, AT launchers specificly are actually quite good as is (you’ll just have to be a bit more creative in higher BRs), even the M9 or Japanese rocket, and I rock them every day over the captured Ofenrohr, which again I still refuse to touch.
Long story short, I can entertain quite a lot, but the limmit has been reached.
Speaking of that, I would like to add on lend-lease weapons. U. S. Tech tree still doesn’t have m3 halftrack and 100 round tommy gun, and Soviets are still using 17pdr at guns at high br.
Lewis gun and Valentine are still exclusive to soviet premiums.
The Pacific Ofenrohr is far worse than any prototype. Because it is not even nation’s technology. Nor does it belong to Pacific campaign at all. Plus it is total copy paste. They haven’t even bothered to change name to “captured” or change its description.
If people were okay with that, they should be fine with silenced PPSh as well.
There is literally an American version of the M3 Halftrack in the game files/editor. I differs from the soviet version in it’s darker olive colour as opposed to the lighter green one seen on the soviet version. No idea why it hasn’t been added.
I agree with this. The problem is prototypes are taking over the tech trees and dragging the game into this vintage Fortnite fantasyland.
Its so annoying and stupid that there’s so many actual WWII weapons we are missing yet DF and many players’ focus is on all this prototype/captured BS.
cough STEN MK V
After you make weapons function properly like the fg42, it’s not a. Infantry rifle it’s a paratroopers lmg, you have to have the t20 as long as you have the fg42 pretending to be a rifleman’s weapon. Again the m2 carbine is not a SF it’s an assault rifle, remove all SF put the m2 in assault and the game is much better. Keep the fg42’where it is and you need both the Hyde and t20 to stay put.
