Remove overheat for ammunition limited weapons and improvements for low capacity tank MGs

Overheating should only be a thing on engineer emplacements (MG and HMG),and the current overheating rates in game are just terrible, you can fire your mounted MG42 for around a second and a half (or somewhere around there) and it overheats and have to wait 8 seconds or so for it to cool down,as well as reload times. This is also an issue on 20mm veichles, the barrels overheat way too fast to get off a single magazine, crucial for SPAAs,and even the 8 round italian 20mm overheats after only 6 shots. In addition to removing overheat from ummunition limited automatic weapons,I propose massively decreasing the reload time for low capacity MGs like the 8mm breda and type 97 machine guns,as the 8mm breda has a reload similar to beltfed MGs with only 26 rounds, while the type 97s is shorter,it still has a much lower amount of fire avalible to put out in comparison to other veichles with different MGs.

Those small magazine sizes are a issue when you have a 8 second reload. If they can’t come to a compromise about eliminating overheat entirely then maybe they can at least extend it 50% more. With shorter times for reloads on small mag MG for vehicles, like from 8 seconds down to 5 for example. This way they can still be balanced but you’ll be able to accurately defend yourself and not constantly spend most of your time reloading.

Plus let us to destroy trees with tank MGs. Cannon shells obviously should destroy them in 1-2 hits depending on caliber.

These are the kind of destruction physics that matter, shouldn’t have to take a tank and ram into a tree to clear your line of sight. It would also make it easier to chip away enemies cover and force people to stay on the move, in part this could also help gray zoning by revealing the position of the enemy easier so they can be targeted by planes, AT and Mortars.

This won’t help on every map but it will help on a large majority of the places where there’s trees, such as Moscow, Rzhev, Ardennes, etc. Where there’s a larger amount of trees. This is also dependent on the caliber of AT gun used, And if it’s capable of taking a tree down. I would also extend this out to AT guns built by engineers.

The overheat cool down period is way too long, it shouldn’t be longer than the weapon reload time. The cool down time after the weapon stop working should be around 2 to 3 seconds long.

Light vehicles with automatic canon is not fun to play. The AB-41 canon overheat before the 8 rounds magazine is empty.

MGs need to make a little more sense, I’d say about maybe triple the time before MGs overheat, and I’m satisfied. Nothing more crazy than that. It just makes more sense. I also wonder why the engineer emplacement even should exist if the MG can’t even depress? That’s stupid. I’d say that in this case, scrap the whole engineer built MG thing. Change it so that an actual MG could sandbag down his actual MG into a stationary prone MG position, where he will get more stability, cover of course, and maybe some 1.5x the amount of ammo or something. He will use the MG that he actually has on him for this. Would be great for defending and not be some crazy deadly HMG thing that everybody complain about boo hoo HMG is nasty boo hoo.

i completely agree.
the overheating sucks hard, is completely ahistorical and utterly unfun.
also there is no overheating adjustments on cold winter maps

DF: stop listening to the whiners who want to nerf everything into the ground. the people who like MGs on tanks, APCs, HMGs etc wont post here, so their countless voices remain invisible, because they spend more time enjoying the game than the whiners spend here trying to ruin it.

I will agree that a vast majority of people decide to remain silent because they know what they have to say will fall upon deaf ears. It’s going to get drowned out by the countless high amounts of people whining about “what’s fair” and “balance” when a lot of other things are already balanced or implemented in the best posible way. The few people that do post when there’s an issue are usually shot down, by either A. Trolls, B) whining faction mains, or C) people who want this game to become war thunder. It’s fine to have its likenesses and features borrowed from war thunder, But enlisted is meant to stand on its own with unbiased opinion, fair balance, fun mechanics and gameplay as well as overall enjoyment for what the game is. How far the community has fallen, it’s sad.

I really dislike overheat on anything with ammo capacity.

I also really dislike limited traverse/elevation angles (emplacements, and mounted vehicle mgs are horrid, especially premium half tracks)

to be honest the M2HB should be able fire for a bare minimum a full 2 minutes continuously without overheating.

“The M2 should start to overheat and either make durability reduce faster or do slight heat damage when you’ve dumped 200 rounds in under 3 minutes or something!” Reddit user WillOfD

which means it should run 100 rounds without overheating but in game it can only run like 30 I think there should be a mechanic where you can push past the overheat but… it will slowly start damaging the barrel and decrease your accuracy till it eventually breaks the Mounted HMG or in the case of vehicle HMGs it should break the barrel or barrels.
