It is very annoying to be on the move and shoot at an enemy 30 feet away and use over half my limited magazine on a single person. Weapons with 30 or less bullets should get this change, so like the MG13, bren variants, and all that other stuff. The accuracy being terrible on the move combined with a small mag size makes you want to get rid of these guns when you get anything with a higher capacity.
Or maybe don’t try to walk your LMG’s? None of them except the BAR were designed to shoulder and walk while firing
Shoulderfiring an lmg is ridiculous to begin with.
People using lmgs like assault rifles are 2x ridiculous.
Because BAR is not lmg
Its automatic rifle
Doctrine and design of Lmg and automatic rifles are 180 degree opposite
They serve totally different roles on battlefield.
Automatic rifles provide high fire power in close distances but with limited ammo capacity and fire power than lmg
Lmgs provide higher fire power with larger bullet capacity than auto rifles but from long distance.
Yeah BAR could be put into rifle class to be honest, yes it is pretty heavy, however balance wise the US is lacking an automatic rifle for max BR - like FG42 and AVT.
The other MGs are unplayable in my mind, you need movement in this game, the dispersion makes all MGs completely useless - HOWEVER this should actually stay like this AND then should finally bipods come into play.
Bipods will turn MGs into mid to long range support weapons - which should be their main purpose.
So seriously, Bipods neeeeed to be added to the game, because whatever the heck those current bipods are, they have no function what so ever.
I disagree
Dispersion shouldnt be a thing when on prone or bipoded.
This kills the whole meanin of using lmg
Didn’t claim otherwise.
It shouldn’t though, the balance should go the other way: with the AVT and fg given to gunners, and the m2 carbine given to assaulters. That way the automatic weapons classes would be the ones with automatic weapons and they would be easier to balance.
LMGs aren’t assault rifles and shouldn’t be accurate while hip-firing on the move. Machine gunners are supposed to be better at medium to longer ranges where they have time and space to properly brace themselves. Assaulters should be the ones running and gunning in cqb.
Apparently the BREN was just as easy, if not easier to perform “walking fire” with as the BAR. In this game the Vicker-Berthier is the only LMG that, for whatever reason, has no movement dispersion penalty.
The FG42 is pretty much an assault rifle though, its recoil and weight are very managable in real life, according to many sources.
Generally, the Bren was fired from the prone position using the attached bipod.[17] On occasion, a Bren gunner would use his weapon on the move supported by a sling, much like an automatic rifle, and from standing or kneeling positions. Using the sling, Australian soldiers regularly fired the Bren from the hip, for instance in the marching fire tactic, a form of suppressive fire moving forward in assault. A Victoria Cross was awarded to Private Bruce Kingsbury for such use at Isurava, New Guinea, in 1942, during the Australians’ fighting retreat from Kokoda.[18]

Sorry sir, this can’t be considered one due to it shooting a rifle cartridge. It would have to be an automatic rifle.
Yeah true, but battle rifle / assaultrifle are kinda comparable in function.
But you are right in that, I apologise for not being precise with my words.
Or in other words, stop going crazy over words, people know what I meant.
Also I said “pretty much”, which means “not really the same but similar”
Suppressing fire isn’t a thing in this game, and it’s not a method known for it’s accuracy, so there’s no reason for bren guns to be more accurate while moving in-game. Anyone can still fire on the move and pretend that people are afraid of bullets if they want to roleplay as Private Kingsbury.
The FG sits in an odd position of a light select-fire rifle that fires full sized rounds. I feel it would be better in the hands of gunners because assaulters are the cqb class and the FG is effective at longer ranges, but an argument could be made either way.
Really it should be exclusive to paratroopers as it’s a good general purpose rifle that’s effective in multiple roles. The one place I truly believe it shouldn’t be is as a general use rifle that can be equipped by almost every class in the game.
It doesn’t matter; dispersion is not needed for guns like the Bren, Bar, or any MG, for that matter. Maybe the devs should utilize sway and recoil, which is already in the game.
Only the last video had someone attempting to move while firing, they all fired in bursts, and nobody hit anything, so I don’t know what you’re trying to prove with those videos.
Not due to dispersion but actual recoil and sway. There is no need for dispersion for mgs in this game when recoil and sway can do their job just fine…
IRL, in this game other Automatic rifle somehow is better than FG42 lmao
