I agree, no jump shooting in Enlisted please.
Next to that it is also silly to see human players move across the map running and jumping all the time to avoid getting hit, they do this because it currently works well for them in the game.
And it is not authentic. WW2 military did not bunny hop over the battlefield for a reason.
Leave the running and gunning, jumping and gunning and bunny hopping to Call of Duty and games like it.
How should soldiers in Enlisted move and fight? In my opinion in an authentic manner.
The game Enlisted does not have to be realistic and/or a simulator but the game can be authentic.
- AUTHENTIC - “Conforming to an original and/or the real world so as to reproduce essential features”.
- SIMULATOR - “A computer simulation (or “sim”) is an attempt to model a real-life or hypothetical situation on a computer under real world conditions”.
- REALISTIC - “Resembling or simulating real life (conditions)”.
Enlisted should be authentic in my opinion. Enlisted does not have to be realistic and does not have to be a simulator but it can authentic. There are more than enough arcade shooters like Call of Duty etc. and Enlisted should not be just another copy of them.
I currently see a lot of brainless running and gunning, or running around with a knife around the objective. This is especially the case in the Chateau on the Normandy map. That area more than any other area in Enlisted is turning into a Call of Duty experience. Some people may like that, but I do not. If I wanted something like that I would play Call of Duty.
To get an idea of how WW2 soldiers were taught to move and act when storming a position take a look at this WW2 German Heer (Army) training movie called “Nahkampf: Männer gegen Männer” (Close Combat: Men against Men):
The training movie not only shows how soldiers were taught to move but also shows close combat tactics, what sort of grenades were used (“Stielhandgranate” handle grenades and “Ei” egg grenades etc.) for what purpose these grenade types were used, how they were thrown and used tactically, how weapons (rifles, MP, MG) were held and fired and reloaded on the move, when weapon jams would be handled and finally it shows hand to hand combat tactics (with spades, knife, bayonet, hands etc.).
I prefer to see close combat in Enlisted to be portrayed like in that training movie and not the flying across rooms, bunny hopping, running and gunning, running and knifing etc. that I currently see in Enlisted.
