Remove FG-42 as its a very niche weapon and give StG-44 for eveyone instead

Yep. Mentioned that with the M2 Carbine.

It’s a great thing i specified that they “function like” assault rifles, rather than saying that they are assault rifles.

You can that with the MG34 as well.
Using MGs like MGs in this game is not a good idea.

Which does not fire intermediate rounds.

FYI you have quoted me as saying that…but i didn’t. @Cringemacht said that

I was against full auto for rifleman class…period

can and should are two very different things. can I sit in spawn and abuse broken gameplay mechanics with my M4A3 (105) by cheesing enemy infantry from the next zip code? Yes, I absolutely can. But should I? Not if i care about other people enjoying the game.

can you equip 3 german soldiers in the same squad with 30+ lb light machine guns and sprint all of them around like they just ate their first, and last, dose of Pervitin? Yes, you absolutely can. But should you?

It shouldn’t be physically possible in either case. Just because you can abuse broken gameplay mechanics for your own amusement doesn’t mean you should, and it shouldn’t just be normal for everyone else to have to deal with it.

My dude, it’s in the name of the gun: “carbine.” :man_facepalming:
Not only that, even without knowing anything about guns, you could have compared the muzzle velocity/ damage stats provided in-game to confirm that it has vastly less power full caliber rifles like the M1 Garand.

“Carbine” is a term commonly used to describe rifle-like guns that shoot handgun caliber cartridges. "Repeater carbine, .22 carbine, M-4 carbine shooting the intermediate .556/.223

You right, my bad.

I like that take. That would keep things consistent and keep the MG class relevant.

Should too. Sitting in this game outside of capturing as inf is dumb.

But that is how you use tanks? If you dont want to use tanks like tanks, dont play tanks.

Yes.

Ship is sailed. Either go with it or leave at this point. This game is so arcade that CoD is realistic.

And an carbine is either an shorter rifle or a AR which fired non-inter rounds and not an AR.
Also last time I remember carbine does not translate into AR.

So what are you MF bitching about? The .30 is not an intermediate round.

It is a carbine because its a shorter version of the M16A2.
And unlike the M2 it actually fires AR rounds.

That’s not the point. As far as I know, the game doesn’t have a carbine weapon type.

But whatever, the M2c could be classified as an smg, not an AR. Just like the golden order one is.

Your concept is good, but we could even take it a step further.

I think they need to add automatic riflemen that are part of the squad upgrades.

Just like assaulters and machine gunners.

will would make majority of standard riflemen carry semi auto rifles instead of carrying crazy op weapons like T-20 and FG42.

I can imagine something controversial (yet again)…

What if, all selectfire rifles would get a small damage nerf so that they get moved in line with MGs - which dont “down” in a single shot - while simultaneously buffing late game semi autos and moving some up into BR5, so that in BR5 you would have semis that kill in one single shot just like bolt actions, while if you like full auto gameplay you can either use assault rifles or select fire full auto rifles that now need two shots to kill/down.

Well both can be true, so either of those works.

People like to have discussions about M2 being an assault rifle, in reality it doesn’t really matter for the game.

I would do that aswell…buuuut…still move select fires away from rifleman…maybe to radiomen…or at the very least default them to semi auto

If it is automatic and fires non-rifle rounds, it is an Assaulter weapon.
But according to hin M2 as rifleman gun is fine so I would like to know how that is fine but at the same time says that non-MG34 MGs are all automatic rifles even if they still fire rifle rounds and are LMGs or in case of the BAR used in LMG positions.

If it was an Assaulter Rifle, US would finally have a StG counter and an actual good Assaulter weapon.

Entirely made up nonsense.

So bullet diameter is the only thing that determines the difference between rifle and handgun rounds? Is that really what you’re going with?

So then 7.62 is just 7.62 across the board then? There’s no difference between an SKS (7.62x39) and a Mosin Nagant (7.62x54R) from a ballistic perspective? And .22 hits just as hard as .223?

Depends on who you ask

Apparently, a lot depends on who you ask nowadays.

Yeah I think that was the same when I read that all MGs with 600 or less rof and 20-30 rounds are automatic rifles/ “function like assault rifles”. And I still think that this is the dumbest thing written here.

Strawman.

And that is the best counter? You can also get that when you get hit by pretty much any bullet in the face. He probably wouldn’t have a skull if they used 9mm Hollow Point.
