Perhaps unpopular opinion here but, just remove the game mode and don’t allow people exploit it in any way.
Or remove EXP gain from it. Let it simply serve as a tool for competitive set-ups by groups of players.
Oh and those who complain about reset for exploiting millions of EXP in a single game in custom battles, no sympathy for your account getting wiped. In my opinion you should feel lucky to even have access to your account.
Replace Custom Games perhaps with Arcade Battles like in War Thunder, where several nations can fight others in a non-historical format.
I like the concept and Ideas behind custom battles … And giving XP is appropriate but not full XP.
To earn full XP there should be an incentive to play the default squad matches
Also an XP cap on custom battles will prevent exploits in the future … I suggest a floating cap that is equal to what a player earns in regular squad play.
As is it just removing the xp bonus from boosters would prevent any form of boosting seeing as they would need 3 other people to sit around and do nothink
Ah yes, another war thunder abused dude, thinking that grind should be everywhere because they had to go thourgh it, so everyone elsa has to suffer too, so they don’t feel stupid.
Nice idea. I just wish they would concentrate on the ai more and give us better commands while playing in our squad. This game was made for squad mode in mind. Focus on that
This is not a topic whether if the grind should be longer or shorter. It’s a topic of someone abusing a bug in order to skip the entire progression system for a faction line in a single game.
That also bypasses a form of income for the developers.
Keep Custom Games for everyone and with the current XP system, but to be able to do it you must complete X amount of battles first, reset idk every week or month. That way people have to still play default multiplayer before they unlock the option to separate and do their own games.
I think here, there is room to talk about how XP gain should be better handled in custom games to avoid the exploiting. But I do not think that we should just outright remove the mode entirely.
There’s a lot of great, fun potential for this mode. Based on what I played of the hardcore squad mode, there is a lot of room for variation from the base game here and a real opportunity for something truly unique. While it does have it’s exploitation issues, I don’t think the “solution” would be to just either cut the mode out completely as you said, or cut off XP gain completely. There are better ways to go about this, such as an XP cap of some sort that is applied per match.
Also man not to be a dick or anything, but it just sounds like you’re asking for a COD fanboys wet dream right there where this mode would become something that people can use as a “tool” for competitive setups and also these ahistorical cross nation battles you mentioned at the end. While I do think that these things should remain possible for those who want it. It should not become the main focus of the mode at all. As you said it could become in your eyes.
No. You’re missing the point that a lot of people (including paid players such as myself) are making:
Playing with other players in this game sucks. People don’t push the objectives, have no sense, and are generally a waste of space. The bots are actually quite good, and it’s more fun to play with bots (and maybe a couple of friends in PvE) than it is to play with and against other people.
The devs could’ve (and should’ve) nerfed the XP gain into the dirt, while allowing players to have a full lobby of bots to play with. I’d have been happy with that. But, no. People like you had to gripe and complain and ruin the mode for everyone – paid players included – because you’re jealous that someone else might level faster.
Just play the game the way you want, hush, and let others do the same.
It’s not “might level faster” you literally unlock everything in the game in a single match. Do you know how much EXP you could have exploited with the previous bug? Millions. That’s also a countless number of weapon + troop orders.
Also it’s splitting up a player base even more than it already is with 4 different campaigns, also they want to add Pacific campaign? This game will kill itself with all these separations of playerbase.
If you think that’s healthy for the game then I don’t know what to tell you, you simply want the game to die.
You’re resorting to histrionics. The sky isn’t falling, the game isn’t dying. People have been asking for custom missions for months. The fact that you dislike it is irrelevant.
The sky isn’t falling, the game isn’t dying, until it’s dead. And then it’s too late.
Seen it plenty of times, as a matter of fact all games die, it’s just a matter of how long will the lifespan be. And I can tell you from experience that the current model of the game won’t last long at all. Unless they make a major overhaul of how campaigns and progression works.
Also haven’t seen anybody asking for custom games. I think you overstate how many players actually really care about it.
