Remove 3D marking, so no floating markers will float on top of vehicles. Stealthiness and clever positioning, as well as appropriate camo, should matter more.
It should update with a delay of 2-3 seconds right now itās like we have a drones always marking them into brain implants of friendly soldiers in real time
Pros: more realistic (HUD isnāt WWII tech, although it is a common element of video games, which Enlisted is, but I digress), tanks can be more āstealthyā in certain environments (mainly urban environments), less chance of insta-kill from god-tier pilots while using tanks, lower chance of being targeted by artillery while in tanks.
Cons: more difficult for less experienced pilots to find the valuable armored targets, more difficult to direct AT fire onto grey-zone campers (if not impossible, in the event you mean that all danger markers should be removed), reduced team-communication/effectiveness of team communication (which is already extremely limited), circling back to the grey-zone thing ā the problem could then easily compound to an increased grey-zone camping problem.
Maybe by changing the moving vehicle markers into static markers, similar to the generic ādangerā ping, this could help alleviate some of the frustration us tanky bois feel when it comes to being hunted off the map by everything from enemy planes to enemy det-packs.
Another idea would be to change the way markers work for individual units. For example, maybe the pilots donāt like the idea of losing their moving tank markers. A good compromise would be to keep the marker exactly the same for everyone in planes (normal ā3Dā, moving vehicle ping), but anyone on the ground gets a static vehicle ping ā one that does not move with the tank.
My final idea is ^that^ with one small change: pilots at/above a certain BR will receive the same āstaticā vehicle ping that the ground troops receive. That means that a pilot at higher BR will need to use some of the skills they learned in lower BR matches to effectively dunk on armored units, while low BR pilots get a little āhandicapā to help them learn the fundamentals of bombing before expecting them to be naturals at spotting enemy tanks from 800+ ft while moving 400+ mph.
TLDR: pinging enemy locations is a crucial part of working effectively with the strangers youāre put into a match with. Removing it altogether could be seriously detrimental to teamplay and cooperation within individual matches, I believe it is important we come up with alternate solutions to this issue.
If you donāt fire your main gun so darn much maybe you can stay hidden. That muzzle flash is one giant āput 500lb bomb hereā sign and I obey road signs. Lol
I liked when you spotted a tank and it stayed static and did not move with it. Now you spot anywhere near it and it glues to the tank but last a lot shorter. Before it would stay for a bit and unless the tank is camping it would just warn the team that a tank is around that area.
how about making markers stationary but make then last twice as long? so if you donāt move your tank you have more chance to get destroyed?
honestly I think markers last way too short, sometimes when Iām in a plane and I see tank marker from far away it disappears before I reach the battlefield. Itās so frustrating and this change could fix that.
Nope, it wonāt work, game doesnāt have both officers (those could command unskilled players) and ingame radio(that could be used for telling the position of tank to other players with radio) so without marks user expirience will suck
With all due respect, this will greatly reduce the entertainment of the game. There is a lack of teamwork in this game, and canceling the 3D tag will only make the game more uncomfortable to play.
This I like! Also, if the marking process would involve some time of cooldown, and maybe also a delay of some kind until the marking is visible to the allies, then that would be very great also!
For some speculation:
In the future I would even go so far as to only let a squad perform markings if it contains a radio, to report it, and maybe an officer (not a class thatās in the game yet) needed to give it authority? Perhaps recon units would have some special abilities in this process also?
Great idea!
Iām the type of guy that abuses the mark button while in a plane I have to admit, and me bombing the enemy vehicles like I do is truly not fair when I bomb markers, not tanks that I can seeā¦
For some speculation:
I have some thoughts on a new class, which is recon, so there would be a third plane spot, only for recon planes, that in the second seat has a way to spot things on the ground. It would of course have radio as well, so it could call in artillery strikes and so on. It would be very fragile and slow, tho.
